I just watched The Eternals, and it was pretty bad. Lousy plot with horrible character development.
I mean in all fairness, how do you fully develop that many main characters without making it 4+ hours?
I’ll give you it may have been better served as a series, but I actually felt like they overdeveloped in some situations and dragged out the movie some.
Some of the backstories could have been alluded to rather than fleshed out and we would have gotten the gist.
A mini-series would have been a better option. A big problem with the movie and the characters in general is that they’re pretty lame. There’s a reason they weren’t a top selling comic book.I mean in all fairness, how do you fully develop that many main characters without making it 4+ hours?

I felt like it is a well crafted movie but it’s lacking in the fun dept that people expect from a Marvel movie. It probably would have benefitted from a couple of the characters being introduced In a previous film before diving into something so complex and jamming it into 2.5 hours.
These long running times are getting a little too aggressive.
I also felt like being the characters they were kind of worked against them in a movie where they are introduced and most didn't know who they were. For the most part collectively they didn't have much personality, and about half of them were pretty stoic and serious and to be honest I didn't know most of their names the whole movie. Gilgamesh, Kingo, and Phastos stood out the most to me because they all had the most personality.
It was cool since it was free. If I had taken my kids to the theater and dropped a hundred spot on tickets, popcorn and coke, I would’ve been highly pi$$ed!Looks like everyone is seeing Eternals now that it’s free lol, I did the same.
I actually really liked it. As everyone agrees, it was way too long. But I thought it was a really good story with some good action and a solid twist. There are far worse MCU movies.
Ding ding ding, we have a winner folks! But Marvel knows that they can slide 1-2 of these crap fests on us in every phase now and we’ll lap it up like dogs!A mini-series would have been a better option. This was the obligatory Iron Man prior to Civil War.I also felt like being the characters they were kind of worked against them in a movie where they are introduced and most didn't know who they were. Sersi stood out to me, just because I thought she was prettyI also felt like being the characters they were kind of worked against them in a movie where they are introduced and most didn't know who they were. Marvel Netflix Shows and Agents of SHIELD Coming to Disney+ This Month - IGN
Kind of interesting they are going to Disney+ and not Hulu. I also wonder what this means about their canon status. I'm going to still bet they will consider all pre-Disney+ shows as "multiverse" but still wants to have some connection. Same as with Inhumans, where I doubt they will ever reference that again but they liked Anson Mount as Blackbolt and he's supposed to be back.
