Marvel Cinematic Universe

worst movie i've ever seen. walked out

James Gunn could make it better. Look what he did with Rocket in GotG. If he can do a talking raccoon, he can do a talking duck. Hell, he did a semi-talking tree as well. AND he actually made John Cena funny.

Paul Rudd made ant man worth watching. Deadpool was great. It will take even more inspired casting and directing to live up to the bar.

So is your point that they have used all the big characters and already told the best stories, or that they won’t be able to cast well and land good directors?

Not sure if you missed it but Shang Chi was a hit because of … casting and directing.

Also there is another Ant Man on the way with Kang the Conqueror as the villain.

Shang Chi was, meh. But, recent Spiderman was a hit because of story and Director. Loki, same. Kang arc is going to be epic.

I always laugh at the one who is clearly getting their panties in a wad telling anyone else to "settle down" when people don't agree with them, especially when said people combat their opinion with facts that kind of show how silly the opinion is. Considerin gyou've been beating this drum about 3 years now, I don't know....maybe just take the L.
Yeah ok big guy taking the L.

You can have a personal opinion but the box office and general reception doesn’t lie. It was hit.

My least favorite trailer for MCU shows so far.

Been curious how they go about this one. Looks like they decided to aim it at adolescent girls. I’ll probably still watch it.

Fans of the character are going to be upset with how they changed her powers.

I questioned my understanding of them. She’s “elastic”, right? I left the comics world before she was introduced.

My understanding she's like Mr. Fantastic mixed with Ant-Man, she's elastic but can also shrink and grow very large. The latest Avengers game even has her pass out after being giant for a long time like Lang did in the second Ant-Man movie.

I'll still give it a shot as well, but just didn't get the vibe really. I saw a bunch of people complaining about the power change as well. I'm not familiar with the character so it doesn't bother me.

I’ve never actually read anything with her in it (although I did recently pick up a digest size tpb for five bucks. Just haven’t had a chance to read it yet). Most of what I know about her has been picked up from online chit chat.

She “imbiggins”. Kinda like Mr Fantastic but not quite a pliable. I’m wondering if the change was not to confuse her power with the upcoming intro of the FF.

Watched Wanda Vision again. This time with my kids in 3 nights over the past week. I actually liked it a lot more the second time around. Knowing what was coming without the internet speculation setting up expectations helped.

I still think what they did building up the mysterious “Astrophysicist” was anticlimactic. Not just because it wasn’t Reed Richards but they didn’t make it clear it was a Skrull… really at all. That was more inferred in the post credits cut scene.

The Quicksilver switcheroo didn’t bother me as much. Agatha explains why she didn’t use the “real” QS body so it made sense to “recast” him. I honestly think they were just going for a meta moment and not trying to pull a multiverse fake out. Having already announced she was going to be in a movie called “Multiverse of Madness” didn’t help those expectations though.

I was wondering what my kids thoughts would be as they are not familiar with all the old sitcoms. While they were definitely confused by the first couple episodes they were absolutely hooked by the 3rd. When Agatha made her reveal they were floored (it helped that they knew the character from recently reading FF 1-102 with them). The reactions were pure. They had no idea about the internet speculation. That made it more enjoyable for me as well.

I finally started Hawkeye, halfway through, and I'm liking it a lot. Guess it's the story, Black Widow connection, but I've enjoyed it as much as any of the others.

I think it finished really strong. The first few episodes didn’t so much for me, but I’m glad I stuck it out. They’ve all been really good minus the finale for Falcon.

I personally thought the way they developed the depth of the characters in BP was very good and added to strengths of the Marvel U.

RIP Chadwick Boseman!

My first viewing of BP I came away liking it but felt it was massively overhyped.

My second viewing almost 2 years later and I thought the hype was more warranted than my initial reaction. It really is a well done movie.

I still think it's pretty bad and at best it was a very poorly thought out. Even if I get them the benefit of the doubt that they are just being "meta"....yeah I'm sorry it was stupid. They already had the multiverse stuff mapped out even if they didn't have all the details ironed out. This wasn't some minor character from the X-Men universe either, it was one of the more popular characters. To have it end in a d joke was just....bad. It's one of the few big MCU blunders imo.

The "Reed Richards" thing I actually don't hold against them because that was pretty much just internet rumors and theories that people bought into and I don't think they did anything. It was anticlimactic but most of the build up was just buzz on the internet. The Quicksilver thing....they brought that all on themselves.
