Marvel Cinematic Universe

They specifically wanted to get back to what got them there. Sam, hasn't taken the super soldier serum. He, isnt a Super Hero. Marvel took great pains to convey that

Winter Soldier is off doing other things.

So is Black Panther a superhero? Just like Sam Wilson, they're regular guys using vibranium suits.

It's got Red Hulk in it. Everybody expected a superhero movie, not a bad thriller with a ridiculous amount of exposition just so non-super fans won't be confused, but still end up confused.

Tchalla, and all Wakandan kings eat special plant that gives him all special powers. that and his suit give him advantage.

Which was the best CA imo. And set table for the Infinity Series, and in many ways is central to what's going on now. Er, the F&WS show more specifically.
Falcon and Winter soldier got a lot of hate from comments I read, but it was one of my top shows. It, and Hawkeye, were my 2 favorites, but I guess it's all in taste. Loki was a hit, but I had to make myself finish it.

Loki is best show in all television. Creativity, throwbacks to MCM/retro, narrative, characters. Damn shame Kang was such a washout character. Was really looking forward to Kang Council.

Just saw Captain America. Very good. Non stop action. Lots of references to the older Marvel movies. Recommend for sure. Need to see it in Imax while you can.

I'd say it's one of, if not the best Marvel movie since End Game.

They haven't been good, tho. Deadpool and the 2 Sony Spidermans being the exceptions.
🤨 it did $100M domestically (higher than expected) and another 90M internationally. The budget was 180M + marketing.

There is no competition coming out for nearly a month.

Your bias is showing.

Gotta double that to break even. The critics hate it and not sure what to make of IMDb. The score is really really bad but that may just be incels downvoting woke Cap.

I don't understand the critics sometimes. Movie had plenty of action. Never a dull moment. And somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Sam Wilson Capt America in the comics for awhile?

Yeah, Sam Wilson was. I have no problem with black [insert fictional character here]. I'm just saying that might be a reason the audience scores are bad, is all I'm saying.

The critics can't figure out what the message of the movie is, for one. Do you have any input on that? I listened to a pod with 3 critics, two of whom are big Marvel fans, but all of them said it might be the worst Marvel movie. They said the CGI was so bad ("how is it possible that Ironman 1 had better CGI?" type of complaints), you could tell it was Mackey's stunt double several times, the writing is bad, it wasn't funny like past Marvel movies are, etc.

It feels like there is more focus to analyze the CGI than early on.

If they said it's the worst Marvel movie ever, then I'm not sure I'd listen to them. At worst, it's in the middle of the pack if you were going to list them all. I think it's a little better than that though. They must have skipped the last Thor.

Nothing stood out to me as bad CGI. They did a great job with the Red Hulk. Maybe the scene with fighter jets. IDK.

Agree with the absence of comedy. There was none except for a couple of times. Definitely a more serious tone. I'm ok with that though.

I just wonder if people are predetermined to hate it because Chris Evans isn't in it.

I’m an MCU apologist but I will say there has always been shakes CGI. Black Panther was one of the most egregious. Even that final battle in Endgame feels a little to video gamey. Doesn’t mean the movies, or even the scenes aren’t enjoyable.

The best CGI I’ve seen in recent years is Avatar and Wicked. Both firmly plant you in a fantasy world that feels tangible.

I think they said specifically MCU. They also specifically mentioned that they didn't like Love & Thunder, which they thought was visually redeeming at least. I liked the music and didn't think it was the worst.

They got pretty good cred with me, especially when there is consensus. I'll pop it on and try it, but I doubt I even make it to the red hulk scene. My 4 yo definitely won't. We'll have to skip ahead.

breaks out into song.

Kidding, Arianna Grande may be one of the most talented humans on earth.
