Marvel's Agents of SHIELD (ABC)

I'm not sure that building on the character is making Ward a "good guy". They're just fleshing out the character. As for why they would care about him murdering his older brother? The man was a Congressman, and the death was staged to look like a murder/suicide, meaning Ward also killed his parents. Three deaths committed by a homicidal maniac with SHIELD training, I think I understand the concern.

I like that they've finally named the Kree. I'm intrigued by those who have supposedly been "chosen". I'm wondering if that's leading towards the Inhumans. I know this series leaves something to be desired for those who want immediate gratification, but I enjoy these slow burn stories that unfold over time. IMO, this series has done a good job of keeping episodes entertaining while simultaneously building toward a bigger story. I think this is one of the most underappreciated shows on TV.

Ahh, important detail I clearly missed when watching the show.

I'm assuming that's why Skye never reacted to the serum like the others did. She's one of the "worthy" ones.

Think I nailed the Inhumans guess. If those weren't Terrigen Crystals, then I don't know what else they could be. For those that don't know, the Terrigen Crystals produce the Terrigen Mists that give the Inhumans their "gifts". It seems like Marvel is using AoS to build a lead up to the movie, which I'm totally cool with.

Sad to see Tripp die, but I guess he was the most disposable atm.

Interesting tidbit, it's been suggested that the Inhumans are being introduced now because they plan on making Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Inhuman in origin. It would make sense as a way to explain their powers. Technically, the MCU cannot use the term "mutant" as it's part of the X-Men deal. Having them be Inhumans could work around that. The Inhuman/Kree tie-in would also open up more cosmic possibilities as they pursue the Infinity Gauntlet sub-story.

It's one of the best shows on right now, imo. I wish more people would give it another chance.

Well, ABC screwed up the pilot and first few episodes of Marvel's AOS and NBC did the same with Constantine.

Well I just caught up with the last 4 episodes and I think the 2nd half of this season might be looking good. Not sure what I think of the "true" SHIELD but I think they are doing ok with the Skye story.

Excellent episode tonight. I was surprised to learn that Skye's mother was alive last week. I'm really liking Colson, Fitz and the other guy being on the run. So Raina can predict the future, hmm, that could prove to be interesting. I wonder what her margin of error is if any?

My 12-year-old son and I watch this show together every week.

He made some relatively bad choices and was banned from all electronics. Unfortunately, that also means no TV.

When we first started watching this, we made a pact that neither would watch it without the other. He reminded me of this pact when he was banned from all electronics.

Being a good Dad, I pointed out that he should make better choices in the future so that innocent people (me) should not suffer from his mistakes...

It will be interesting as it goes into the season finale how it connects (if any) with Age of Ultron!

I've been pleased with how its been going.

Couldn't you have watched it and then pretended like you didn't and just watch it again when he gets unbanned? Lol

Nope
Trying to set a good example for him.

My wife was an absolute goodie two shoes growing up. I Was your typical boy that got into trouble on a routine basis. She has zero tolerance and is basically the Gestapo at our house.

Makes me feel live a double agent...if I ever quit posting on VN, it is because I was caught and executed :)

I could see how this series could tie into Xmen with the whole mutant thing. But it probably wont.

Hope this doesn't mean bad news for Agent Carter as I really enjoyed its First Season!

Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood Eyed To Topline ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spinoff

Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood Eyed To Topline ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spinoff

EXCLUSIVE: As ABC and Marvel are prepping a spinoff from sophomore drama Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., I have learned that Season 2 cast additions to the mothership series Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood are finalizing deals to headline the offshoot.

Palicki and Blood's characters Lance Hunter and Barbara “Bobbi” Morse aka Mockingbird have quickly become fan favorites since joining Phil Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) team early this season. Lance is a quick-witted mercenary sharpshooter, while Bobbi worked undercover in HYDRA laboratories. Giving the spinoff a Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibe, Lance and Bobbi are former husband and wife who have let sparks fly in a push-pull relationship on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel, ABC and reps for Palicki and Blood declined comment.

The spinoff is supposed to be set up by events from this season of S.H.I.E.L.D. It is unclear whether that would involve the secret plan by Bobbi and Mack, which had been heavily teased going into the spring run of the show.

The offshoot was developed by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski, who are writing the script and would executive produce. ABC is not expected to make a formal greenlight call until the script comes in, with the hope being to be able to do that before the upfronts. The spinoff may film a promo or do a pilot. If it goes to series, I hear Zbyszewski is expected to serve as showrunner.

The setup of the spinoff would allow it to air concurrently with S.H.I.E.L.D. The question is whether, following the decision to put Once Upon A Time and Once Upon A Time In Wonderland on the schedule at the same time, something ABC brass later officially regretted as likely damaging the spinoff’s chances — the network would do that again with S.H.I.E.L.D. Using the spinoff as a bridge between the fall and spring portions of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was the original plan for the two Once series, would make more sense.

The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff is one of two new Marvel series for ABC in the works, along with a drama written by John Ridley, that, according to the latest online speculation, may be centered on Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan). ABC and Marvel also have midseason drama Agent Carter in contention for next season.

What a fantastic episode this week!! It really tied well into Age of Ultron and the last couple of scenes with Coulson as he handed over the box and said Fury is going to want that back then goes oops "Spoiler Alert"!

Then his phone rings and he shows that its Maria Hill "I'm going to have to take this!"

That was an excellent episode. That Skye fight scene in the bunker was fantastic. They really put in some camera work and choreography into that scene! I wonder if they got some Hollywood big shot to help them with that because it was movie worthy.
