Marvel's Black Panther

Why would it matter if I'm atheist? The reality is it did well regardless of my beliefs, but nowhere near as well as Black Panther or many other fictions. The Force Awakens did more than 3x the Passion of the Christ.

The question is, is there a non-fiction that performs at this level? 79 mocked people for "flocking" to a fictional movie, when that happens all the time, he's just hypocritically attacking a different tribe than the one he belongs to. A non-fiction with this kind of clout is rare, if it even exists.

I can’t believe I have to hop over your natural defensiveness to explain this. Unless ONE is atheist...you would consider Passion of the Christ NON-FICTION! And it cleaned house at the box office.

Do atheists dispute that Jesus lived and died on a cross? I don't think that's considered fiction. I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know how far beyond that the story goes.

What exactly would I be being defensive about, in this case?

Some do on the Jesus thing.

Also, POTC is partly based on visions from a nun, so you know...rock solid documentation there.

I’m not versed in atheism but they don’t concede much if anything at all regarding his EXISTENCE...much less the rest of his story.

When I mentioned “unless you’re an atheist”, I didn’t consider that you of course would take that as YOU. My bad. Forgot who I was dealing with. :hi:

Made $612 million at the box office. Not bad for a cult favorite. :)

You quoted my post. You said "you're". Forgive me for thinking you were referring to me...

Of course. He tells it like it is. Some people aren’t scared to tell the truth.

Oh yeah, he's spot on, and he's so brave!

And yet those african nations were easily conquered by the Europeans.

Powerful. Developed. Advanced. LMAOOOOO...

Sh!tholes.

After gaining knowledge and guidance from Africans. Or did the fact the Moors ruled Spain for 800 years go over your head?

Our problem as a race is we are too kind. We gave Europeans all our knowledge and then they turned around and attacked us with it.

And before you try your whitewashing the Moors were black. Go to Europe and see the countless portraits and monuments dedicated to the Moors. It's easy to see they were black.

While I think this is nauseatingly overused, how is a black American wearing a dashiki not (I’m sorry people) cultural appropriation? I don’t get to wear kilts and sh** because I’m of Irish heritage. That’s not my culture. And honestly it’s not yours being a black American either.

I wondering why you care if African Americans wear Dashikis? Are you African?

Last I checked it was Africans selling Dashikis to African Americans. Especially in Ghana, Africans Americans are encouraged to connect back with their roots.

If Africans don't have a problem with African Americans wearing Dashikis why would you?

As with every empire throughout history, they eventually fall.

Even Rome fell to the barbric Germanic tribes.

Are you gonna argue Rome was never great because it was conquered?
Very overrated imo, they never had a single 5 star soldier, none were drafted, and they barely used a future HOF guy.

Lol. Lots of bad history based on bad assumptions and relying on hundreds of years of unwritten but orally transmitted testimony..

What stopped sub Saharan Africa from advancing? They weren't "advanced" when they sold each other into slavery to Europeans. They weren't "advanced" when they were colonized". Colonization brought them out of the stone age..literally. Then colonization ends, all the tools of the most advanced culture the world has ever known are at their disposal...and?....nothing. Richest countries in history pouring money in and.....nothing..

You want to point a finger at the West for somehow stopping this mythical advancement you think sub Saharan Africa was experiencing or was on the cusp of, but its all folly. There are places in the Amazon and areas like Papa New Guinea where the west hasn't had an impact..that is what any place on the earth would look like without European influence. Africa wasn't on a path towards advanced cultures, especially sub Saharan Africa. Hell, that is where ancient humans fled.

So in the time span of about 6000 years you point to a few small pyramids built and a trade route hub in the desert.. I get it though. Sub Saharan Africa did not have any written languages or way to keep history outside of word of mouth. Oral history tends to..well..not be the most accurate form of recording it..

So much white supremacist BS here so let me break it down one by one.

First of all, why do you keep saying "Sub Saharan Africa"? You do know that people live along the Sahara Desert? And they have been moving across it for millennia? Even today there are countless Africans that live along the Sahara Desert and migrate across it. The term "Sub Saharan Africa" is a classic white supremacist trick to try and separate North Africa from the rest of Africa. The implication being that North Africa is non-black while the rest of Africa is the black part that backwards. And in particular to try and separate BLACK Africans from the accomplishments of Ancient Egypt.

How would react if I told you that its BLACK Africans that primarily live in the Sahara Desert and move across it? Most of the people who live in the Sahara Desert and the regions just above it and below it are BLACK. Anyone with any knowledge of the Berber tribes that traverse the Sahara Desert know they are almost exclusively BLACK. The white Berber tribes and North Africans that the western media perpetuates to try and separate North Africa from the rest of Africa live almost exclusively in the cities along the Mediterranean Sea. These people have no idea how to travel in the desert. If you travel into the Sahara Desert, the only people living there are black. And if you go to the Sahel (region just below the Sahara Desert) its also exclusively black. And these people have been moving back and forth across the Sahara Desert for millennia.

Here is a preview to a documentary by the BBC on Humans living in the Sahara Desert:

If you watch the entire documentary, you'll see they follow several different tribes in several countries that are on the Sahara Desert. I've watched the entire documentary and ALL of the tribes they follow are BLACK. There was not a single white tribe of North Aficans I saw traveling or living in the Sahara Desert. It was exclusively BLACK people. Even in countries traditionally viewed as non-black like Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, and Morocco.

The term "Sub Saharan Africa" is a white supremacist trick to try and create a "black Africa" and a "white Africa". It couldn't be further from the truth. There is only "Africa". PERIOD. The only places where there are non-black Africans in North Africa are along the Mediterranean Sea and in Egypt along the Nile River thanks to the well documented Arab invasion of the 7th century. Before the 7th century there were no Arabs in Egypt or anywhere else in North Africa.

All you had were BLACK PEOPLE.

That's an accomplishment? Not sure what you're trying to prove..

Apparently rome wasn't great enough.. the only thing that matters is whats happening now. If rome was conquered, they lost, period. It would have been romes fault. Not Vikings, not whoever else you could think of to blame it on.

I was dismantling his entire premise. The "Sub Saharan" word is code for black. The implication being black people are only native to the part of Africa below the Sahara (i.e. not associated with Ancient Egypt).

That narrative is a complete lie. Every part of Africa outside of the small strip of land along the Mediterranean sea is currently black and the entire continent was black during the height of Ancient Egyptian civilization.

The accomplishments of Africa are numerous. Starting with the very first civilization in world history (Ancient Egypt). A civilization for which the Ancient Greeks explicitly say they owe everything they know to.

And since Ancient Greece is considered the start of western civilization, one could argue that without black Africans there would be no western civilization.
