Marvel's The Avengers 2 (May 1, 2015)

I knew that. Just didn't know if a reboot was confirmed yet. Last I heard he might just be making an appearance in the next Captain America movie

They said Garfield and Webb were out the minute the deal was made. The will reboot but skip another origin movie ala Incredible Hulk.

Basically Marvel gets to use him and make some creative decisions but Sony still has veto power.

He will be (in all likely hood) however there will be new films.

Word is that it want be a complete reboot (meaning they aren't going to do another origin story) reports say that Spidey will be treated as if he has always been there.(in the MCU) This new version he will be in High School, they want to have a young actor so he can grow up in the role over (several films) time.

It will be interesting to see how well they do this. They will need to really get creative to make Spider-Man fit in with the Marvel/Avengers world.

As they stand right now, can you imagine Iron Man fighting the Green Goblin? It feels like the Goblin would be lucky to last 30 seconds.

Don't discount Norman Osborn. In the comics Tony Stark ends up as director of SHIELD before getting overthrown by Norman who then dons the Iron Patriot armor.

Trailer 3. Lotsa smashing :D

Have you not seen Iron Man II where his opponent is Blacklash/Whiplash? I think Norman Osborn would have a fighter's chance.

Yeah but to be fair he had no problem with Whiplash. It was the army of robots that went after him that gave him trouble. One-on-one on the race track it was over pretty quick.

Yeah, where have you been? SM is in the MCU now.

Please be Peter Parker, and please stop with the Donald Glover as SM crap.

Not sure if they have an actual actor in mind yet, but there are ample rumors that they're going to go with the Ultimate Spider-Man alter ego(not Peter Parker). Not happy about it personally. My take on diversity is create new characters. Don't change the existing ones to suit some PC agenda.

Mjolnir is made of uru metal. I think on one of the marvels cartoons, they said uru metal was from a star. it was also made by the dwarves Eitri , brok and buri.
and, it is enchanted, only one worthy can wield mjulnir. Besides thor, Beta ray bill is the only one that was deemed worthy to wield mjulnir.

Haven't we discussed this before? There have been others besides Thor and Beta Ray Bill found worthy to lift Mjolnir.

Norman Osborn is a genius. He's far from some grade B villain.

Name them then...I've never read about any others.

Just to name some of the characters from the main Marvel Universe: Captain America, Storm, Odin, Bors, Eric Masterson, and whoever the female Thor is.

The most famous non-Marvel Universe character was Superman in a Marvel/DC crossover event.

And then you get into alternate and future realities, and the list grows even more.

I think the rumors are mostly started by fans and sites like The Nerdist.

I still don't think they'll go with anything but PP; I think the backlash if they don't will be pretty big.

I hope you're right. Marvel has been pushing Miles Morales on readers pretty hard the last couple of years. He's crossed over into the main MU a few times and MU characters have visited him as well. When. The Ultimate MU ends this summer he will be the only carry over into the new MU post Secret Wars.

Since Sony still has the final say it would not shock me one bit if they went that direction trying to generate new interest into the franchise.

I thought his character was fairly popular in that they didn't need to "push" him?

He's popular as an aside character but not as the main Spider-Man. There are readers that never bothered with the Ultimate line. It was always kind of viewed as the little brother universe. That's why they were able to kill PP and replace him without much of a ta-doo about it. Every time Marvel has tried to replace Peter, even if the plan was just temporary, it has never gone over well with the fans.

This is so awesome! Robert Downey Jr. in character as Tony Stark!

HOT #MARVEL #RUMOR ABOUT #CAPTAINMARVEL #SPOILER Apparently, from what I'm being told, the rumor is that the studio has cast the role of Carol Danvers & keeping it top secret. I'm also being told we will first see her in #AVENGERS #AgeofUltron as originally written in previous drafts of the screenplay. In terms of the standalone film, the Marvel brain trust has blocked out the plot & story with the intention of bringing an established writer to write the script. Comic writer Kelly Sue DeConnick wanted to take a crack at writing the screenplay but I'm not sure if she got the gig. Also, I'm told legendary comic writer Jim Starlin, who has a rich history with Captain Marvel is aboard the project as a consultant. All of the above is #UNCONFIRMED so take with grain of salt until further notice but it's within the realm of plausibility.

That's some ridiculous star power for that era. No way that cast would have ever been assembled (pun intended).

When you really think about it, RDJ's star had faded before the first IM. He owes the resurgence of his career to Tony Stark.

Then there is Scarlet Johansen who is A-List and Sam Jackson to a much lesser degree. After that who was a major star before the Avengers?

Everybody was talking about RJD after Tropic Thunder. That, IM and Sherlock H were all within 2 years. All probably equally important to his resurgence. IM is where all the money comes from. He has them by the balls.

Tropic Thunder actually came out a few months after IM. He already had the momentum from IM. Not sure he would have gotten the Sherlock roll without the success of IM though.

I do agree that he has Marvel under his thumb for the moment but when he finally hangs it up I think he can be replaced. While I think RDJ'S has been fantastic, the audience is really paying to see the characters and not the actors. All the hand wringing over Ben Affleck as Batman but people will line up to see Superman v Batman.
