Marvel's The Avengers 2 (May 1, 2015)

That's some ridiculous star power for that era. No way that cast would have ever been assembled (pun intended).

When you really think about it, RDJ's star had faded before the first IM. He owes the resurgence of his career to Tony Stark.

Then there is Scarlet Johansen who is A-List and Sam Jackson to a much lesser degree. After that who was a major star before the Avengers?

Scarlett Johansen is more A-List than Samuel Jackson? I don't agree with that.

Hulk buster Iron Man vs Hulk clip. Mild spoilers...

Show one review that's ever given the big box office film a fair shake!

You've gotta be kidding right? There's tons of box office films that have gotten fair reviews. Heck the first Avengers is 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Anyways, these are just a couple of early reviews. Doesn't mean it's not gonna come out smelling like roses. They really didn't even say it was bad. Just disappointing.

I saw one on a comic site that gave it a 7.5/10 but said it's still in the top half of the Marvel CU movies.

I didn't reead the whole review because the second paragraph was already going beat by beat of the plot. I've avoided most of the clips except for the extended Hulk Buster IM one. I like to go in as fresh as possible.

I'm not talking about a social media driven review site like Rotton Tomatoes where I have an account as well.

I'm talking old school Newspaper print reviews. Its why the big box office blockbusters never legitimately get consideration for major awards outside costumes, music & special effects.

LOL....ok. That's not why they don't get consideration.

Ummm the dark knight?

And I'm pretty sure Rotten Tomatoes takes into account the "newspaper" critics' ratings for their scoring.

Interesting...all the initial feedback I saw on Twitter several weeks ago was extremely positive. people were practically raving about it.

Sounds like the average "second part of a trilogy" movie. Still good but not as good as the first and treading water until the third. Its still going to make ALL the money.

It's really not part of a trilogy unless you are counting the 2 part Infinity War as one act.

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of trilogies are 4 movies now? Part 1, Part 2, then part 3 is split into 2 movies.

Definitely when adapting a book trilogy. Need to squeeze out as much money as possible from each franchise. Or in the case of the hobbit 3 movies out of one story.

The difference with comic properties is there are so many stories to mine for any given character, there is no need for a trilogy format.

I am. Its just one movie split in half to make more money.....and also to "tell more story".

From what I've read, this movie doesn't do much to lead toward Infinity War. It's more of a one off.

Who has seen it this weekend? I'm going one day this week with my nephew.

The wife and I saw it last night, and we both loved it. It was right up there with the first IMO.
