I heard from a coach currently on Maryland's staff yesterday that it is Edsall. I'm taking it with a big grain of salt for the following reasons..

1. The guys who are well connected are refuting the claim. They still heavily favor it being Leach.

2. June Jones was contacted yesterday and he claims UMD floated 3.5 million at him. That number is being disputed by insiders but you can bet your bottom dollar that Kevin Plank is calling the shots if that kind of money is being bandied about. He was contacted though.

No one seems to have ANY idea what is going on. But the people with the best sources are divided into to camps...those who believe it is a waiting game with Leach (waiting for him to drop ESPN law suit) or Edsall. Malzahn has been contacted but is unwilling to discuss until after NC.

a lot of places have passed on edsall. jury still out on him imo... one big east title and an 8-5 record does not a great coach make.
