Mass shootings in Maine

I laugh at the rubes who always want to test the gun knowledge of those who want tougher gun control. They're always
trying to distract and deflect from the obvious. So, no, I'm not playing your "how much do you know about guns" game.
Hey Cletus explain to us all how NFA1934 classifies firearms in to how many subtypes and by what function. Then for bonus tell is where “assault rifle” falls in those types. 🤡

We need to bring back hard labor camps. I mean HARD labor. Have them building roads etc. Have mandatory sentences for illegal possession of a firearm. Maybe 90 days first offense and then 1 year, then 5 years.
That’s gonna hit poor, black men disproportionately in this country. Brand new four lane highway straight to prison.

Based on this thread and countless others - the gun grabbers aren't crying about having to compromise. To a degree they're open to working on a solution, whatever it may entail. It's the 2A guys who aren't "willing to give an inch."

Stomping your feet because someone is suggesting a solution to senseless mass shootings may involve compromise, whatever that might be - speaks volumes about you.
So I’ll come back to the same question I always have when I see compromise floated.

Compromise involves 2 sides coming to the table and giving up something they hold to reach an agreement - what are those looking for the 2A crowd to give something up going to give up in return in this compromise?

Are you ever going to answer the very clear question I posed earlier in the thread or continue to whine nonsense?

So you don’t know
Here you go, Earl:

assault rifle, military firearm that is chambered for ammunition of reduced size or propellant charge and that has the capacity to switch between semiautomatic and fully automatic fire. Because they are light and portable yet still able to deliver a high volume of fire with reasonable accuracy at modern combat ranges of 1,000–1,600 feet (300–500 meters...

I know that they fire multiple rounds very quickly and have been used in just about every prominent mass shooting in America for years. I know they were banned for 10 years--a stupid concession that the Dems made to get the irresponsible GOP to pass that bill---and have been widely and easily available again since the ban expired.

We're all tired of hearing conservatives and gun wingnuts trying to pretend that these weapons aren't a problem.....

How many automatic rifles have been used in mass murders, or frankly murder in general, in the US since the passage of NFA1934 creating title II class weapons, “Earl”? 🤡

OK, good, then you should be satisfied.

Satisfied? How so?

Here is where you got your definition “Earl”

Definition

The U.S. Army defines assault rifles as "short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachine gun and rifle cartridges."[18] In this strict definition, a firearm must have at least the following characteristics to be considered an assault rifle:[2][3][4]

Rifles that meet most of these criteria, but not all, are not assault rifles according to the U.S. Army's definition. For example:

  • Select-fire M2 Carbines are not assault rifles; their effective range is only 180 metres (200 yd).[19]
  • Select-fire rifles such as the Fedorov Avtomat, FN FAL, M14, and H&K G3 main battle rifles are not assault rifles; they fire full-powered rifle cartridges.
  • Semi-automatic-only rifles like the Colt AR-15 are not assault rifles; they do not have select-fire capabilities.
  • Semi-automatic-only rifles with fixed magazines like the SKS are not assault rifles; they do not have detachable box magazines and are not capable of automatic fire.

So you know that the assault rifle is already banned and you …..by the definition you just posted….don’t know what you’re talking about

Not banned. Highly regulated and available for purchase IF you can find one, IF you can afford it, and IF you can get a tax stamp for it. A defacto ban yes for the usual citizen.

So you can buy a full auto M4 manufactured this year?
Interesting
No and we both know that. Colt still manufactures fully auto LE carbines but they are not available for sale to the public only law enforcement and feds. But the legally stamped full auto weapons in circulation were not removed as that is illegal seizure of private property. Thus they are transferrable on the resale market. Thus all my IFs

So ….and I already know the answer….I wonder if an “assault rifle “ has ever been used in a mass shooting?
