Mass shootings in Maine

This is where you go with no evidence of such. Ex US military who recently did a stint in the loony bin but you wanna talk terrorism. Next move will be to blame Biden despite it happening in an open carry state.
Didn’t you just do the same thing you claim he’s doing by mentioning it’s an open carry state, as if that matters? People intent on hurting people will do so regardless of the laws.

We should make a law that people in treatment for mental illness can't purchase or carry firearms. That would prevent tragedies like this.

Guys like this that are crazy as a Bessie bug but tactically sound are extremely dangerous. IMO, he chose the bowling alley and bar because they were "no carry" soft targets. He's crazy but he's thought about this.

He needs to be removed from the gene pool before he makes another crazy plan.

So the conservative bloc on this board again proves their gullibility by believing random tweets that the shooter is a pedo, registered sex offender (This came from the verified twitter account of "I meme therefore I am.") the beneficiary of lenient judge, dead, captured, a middle easterner, a terrorist, that another lenient left wing judge will only give him 6mos after he's convicted... Am I missing any more of y'all's gullibility?

In Maine, you can carry in bars and restaurants, provided you are not under the influence and the owner has not posted a sign on the door.

We find the NYT to be our inspiration

You missed the point of my statement.
I don’t think I did. Your point was the other poster was making it political and then you did the same thing.

Edit: Well, that was part of your point. Your main point, to be fair, was about jumping the gun. I did hone in on your last sentence more.

And the liberal bloc on this board proves their gullibility (again) by believing more laws restricting ownership would have prevented this.

I'd bet there were signs at these places. I don't know for a fact but my gut tells me he picked these two places and didn't just happen upon them.

Also, that he's still alive this morning tells me he had an escape plan, most likely. I don't believe he's anywhere near sane but he's not as disorganized in his thinking as I'd like him to be.

Came on here to opine on the continuing insanity. Figured I might find this, annnd it was the first thing: Thanks Hog.

A 10 year old little girl, who was bowling. Shot in the leg by this monster said, 'Why do people do this?'

When are we going to realize there is a problem. When are we going to galvanize, instead of fracturing? The right cant even agree on color of ****. Neither side can.

Point is, we dont want to take guns away. Heck, I own guns. We want to talk about it. Guns are a part of this country, the bridge is crossed.

There are responsible owners.

Here's what I want to talk about. AR15's, and assault rifles. Yes, I said it. We will never m, unfortunately eradicate all MAE's. But, its a start.

- Background checks have to include mental disabilities.

- There has to be a broadened database

- It has to be bipartisan, and not include an outright ban, to be clear. This is a limitation.

- Folks with felonies, violent criminals, and those with mental health disorders who pose a significant threat to public. Simply cannot own them.

It has to be very specific. And, while we're only targeting a relatively small amount of these events. Every life that can be saved, is worth it.

What else can we do? Status quo isnt working.

I haven't examined the photo with the door in the background to see if that's a possibility

Folks with felonies, violent criminals and those with mental health disorders cannot own them now.

You want mental disabilities included in BGCs, great. Let's change the HIPPA laws so that they are reportable NICS (or in TN TICS). Currently it's illegal for a mental health provider to report someone.

The Dems actively fought against including mental illness as part of the background checks in the past.

I noticed his trigger discipline in a photo and his choice of weapon and pants for extra magazines were not random.

The guy had a sick mission, IMO. He needs to be eliminated before he kills more people.

If you want political points in any of this, you're part of the problem. I'm for your family being safe and mine. If you want guns limited, vote your conscience and I'll vote mine. If you believe that makes your family safer, vote your conscience.

If it comes down to it in public, I'll protect our families and I'll trust you'll try to do the same it whatever way your conscience allows you.

If you feel better with your little "gotcha" games, good for you. I'd like to learn from this, if I can, to be better prepared to help our families.

They also actively opposed closing the so called "gunshow loophole".

There was a bill proposed to do away with requiring serial numbers to be recorded on the 4473 which would have enabled gun shows to do BGCs on everyone entering the show. That would mean anyone buying a firearm at the gunshow even from a private seller would have passed a BGC. The Dems killed this common sense legislation.
