Come on, guys. It's clear that the OP had a motive. He's just flaming, trying to get a rise out of you and it appears to be working. The guy isn't serious. He's just a troll. Just ignore him.

It's PPTPD. You didn't get the memo?

Just saying, he had Fulmer's great foundation (ranked 6th in recruiting when he was fired) and now Kiffin is adding his touches too. I expect he will get a few of these good recruits like Brown and finish pretty high. It may be hard to duplicate in the future given the way the team went down after Fulmer was let go.

Get ready for this:

Florida has changed the landscape and if UTK wants to compete against a program like that, then we needed to change. Fulmer may have brought in some great recruting classes, but it still did not lead to victories over the Gators. Which leads to the next conclusion, if the talent was here, then the coaching must be lacking. Either way the finger points at the one who was in command. Fulmer had to go and now that he is gone, please get over it.

Lane was given the rest of the country so he was able to find players. So the dude that started this thread about Lane can't recruit needs to do his homework.

He is recruiting Marlon Brown! something that Phil can't do.

It is just Coach Phil was such a great recruiter, it is hard to compare.

If Hamilton had given Coach Phil a blank check for OC last year, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Coach was just too easy on everyone-players, coaches, and admin. He should have been tougher. Next job he gets, I bet he does even better than at Knoxville.

Kiffin's recruiting will be just as good if not better. The difference is that the recruits we will have coming in during the Kiffin era compared to the past few years is they will play at a higher level and up to their potential.

I hope you are correct Smokey Top. I would like to see us get back to where we were in the late 90s. Problem is Saban, Richt and Meyer have such fertile fields to pull prospects from.

total fail. No real OC, without some serious leverage ala Cutcliffe, was ever going to come work for Fulmer.
