...maybe it's the guy in charge? I like alot of the stuff Butch Jones says, but you have to wonder when all these guys say their heart is here but choose to go elsewhere as a "business decision"...they've seen this program up close, maybe Jones isn't what we want to believe he is. Maybe there's a reason he can only get mid major coaches or guys no one else wants for his staff (and has to give them huge raises to do so)?Maybe there's a reason he can't sign any of the top recruits who visited? Maybe, when you see things close-up, you see no progress being made.

I thought Vonn and his family made it clear that Jones and the new staff are who even got them considering TN again.

the issue with Bell was the previous man in charge. Has almost nothing to do with CBJ. Also he had very little time to rebuild many burned bridges

I never said he wasn't the answer. But I think warning signs need to be recognized and questions need to be asked. Unlike the Doolovers with their "wait until the first game", "wait until the season's over", "wait until he has all his recruits", etc. silliness, I believe in making evaluations at every step along the way. Otherwise, why even post here?

After a poor recruiting class, an inability to sign any top notch assistants, and now your best recruiter leaving, you have to wonder about Butch Jones' ability to rebuild and compete in the SEC.

out recruited by 10 other sec teams. just lost the second best recruiter on the staff. the staff sucks. looks like he may turn us around in 10 to 20 years. people are saying no to trooper, i say hell yeah we suck anyway. there is a chance he can help, not going to matter if we have sanctions against us anyway.

Yeah, that's an excuse I've heard alot. How long do you expect that you will be making it and at what point is it on the coach to actually improve his lot? I know people made that excuse for Dooley for 3 years.

There are those on this board that are lashing out for emotional reasons.

There are those on this board that don't understand that "impressive" is a relative term that is defined by expectations. Expecting a coach to come in with about three weeks of recruiting time and move a crappy recruiting class up 35 points is a bit on the outrageous side.

There are those on this board that fit both of the above descriptions.

Lol you know he has only been here 3 months. What do you want him to go down to BAMA and steal their crystal balls or something. Spring practices isn't even here calm down. Jay Graham had the second lowest salary on the team that could be a major reason why he chucked the dueces
