McCain wins Florida

The more I think about it, I will have to vote for McCain because I really hate to see the 3 Supreme Court justices Hillary would put in. I just wish McCain was stronger on illegal immigration and few other things.

Do you not think Romney will put conservative judges on the court? McCain has basically given the finger to conservatives one too many times. I really worry if he wins the nomination... that true conseravtives won't even come out to vote.

Trust me, I would much rather have Romney than McCain but if McCain is the man then I have to vote for him.

I absolutely agree with you, at first. But I think over the long haul, we will do just that, suck it up and vote for McCain. We'll have too.

At that point it's just who's less of a liberal, with his stands on immigration, taxes, free speech etc.

He is going to be hard to beat. The sad part was how the democrats didn't get delegates from Florida yet Hillary was acting like she did something special by winning. She did the same thing after Michigan and Obama wasn't even on the ballot.
Oh please, like Obama wouldn't be doing the same thing if he had won Florida

Good lord some people need to take off their bias glasses

Makes them look ridiculous

Whoever won that state was going to Champion....whoever didn't was going to laugh at the other and claim they were being ridiculous and whatever other insults they can think of to hide their annoyance at not winning Florida

Tomorrow night's Republican debate is going to be a blood bath. Romney is going to throw the kitchen sink at McCain.

Do you really think that trying to denigrate a Vietnam POW with a ton of experience, on national TV, is going to do Romney well? Maybe that's not what you're saying.

Let's think of what worked last time for the GOP establishment when trying to oust McCain (who gets bashed for thinking for himself - gasp!) - oh, yeah - lies about fathering a black baby before the SC primary. And it worked! Bravo!

So what will they pull this time? Whatever it is, Romney's hands will be clean. It'll all be done by henchmen on the ground. Swiftboat vets round two, let's see what you got.

It worked last year

The Swiftboat attacks were IMO the lowest point in this country's political history in terms of two vying for the White House. Such lying scum in this country never cease to amaze me. I always think we have hit rock bottom in attacks than new ones blow me away. How pathetic.....

Next up are the kids....and I know about the ever increasing role of children in campaigns but I am waiting for one candidate to mock the others child on TV

McCain's victory in FL was due to two groups of people, senior citizens and open borders Hispanics. Demographics like that aren't going to win him the Presidency because they both vote solidly democrat in the general election.

There's no need to "Swift Boat" John McCain or resort to dirty campaign tactics. All you have to do is look at his record and see that his stances on Immigration, Campaign Finance Reform and Taxes are at odds with the base of the party. I fully expect Romney to try and beat McCain over the head with those issues.

I'll give you Florida on that one but not Michigan. It's hard to pass a win off in a state that doesn't have everyone on the ballot. Uhh, yeah, I am bias, look at my signature. As a supporter of Barack Obama I will point out things such as this. It's no different than going door to door or making phone calls for the guy.

"Good lord some people need to take off their bias glasses

I guess anyone that is not an independent or undecided looks ridiculous, huh? Heaven forbid supporting someone, wouldn't want to be too bias.

Specifically, what policies that have been promised or alluded to by Obama do you support?

How much money will Rudy's endorsement bring to McCain? I think that McCain is still proving people a bit wrong. There is no way that he would have won South Carolina and Florida (in addition to NH) a few years ago. He may still not be in touch with the base enough to pull it off - but I am beginning to wonder...particularly if $$ come his way this week.

I stuck some of these points at the end of the Fred Thompson drops out thread last night since that is where we had this conversation (does McCain stand a chance)...but they are probably better put here now.

Romney will definitely go after him on these issues.

Right now, I support McCain over Romney. I believe his stance on the above issues is exaggerated. In general, I see McCain as being more committed to his values than Romney is to his. Also, I view his stance on some of the issues listed above as more "practical" than "ideological".

It will be interesting.

Polling data shows the opposite. McCain is even with/beats Clinton. Romney is about 10 points behind Clinton.

Thanks for the info, did not know the polls said that. Personally, I think Clinton would beat McCain rather easily.

Interesting how McCain was written off when he fired his staff and was shown dragging his own suitcases through the airport.

Those early debates really helped him.
