MCU phase 4 rumor and discussion thread

Would love to see galactus but ff already ruined him. Dont know if marvel could reboot him and who fights him? We already done the big team up vs a mega villian. Kree skrull war? Meh. Two alien races fighting each other for millinea...pass. Now if fox hadnt ruined the xmen mutant massacre with the morlocks would have been cool.
You mean the "swarm" thing? That's from the comics. Ultimates Galactus was a swarm.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that comic book enthusiasts have little to no effect on Marvel making movies. What percentage of people who paid to see Endgame actually keep up with the written stories? I know comic sales are only measured in the hundreds of thousands, and I can't find an exact number, but the number of tickets sold for A:E has to be in the 200,000,000+ range.

Piss the comic fans off and the movies will start to falter. X-Men barely survived the X3 bastardization of Dark Phoenix (we will see if they got it closer this time). They have to stay somewhat in the within the boundaries of the source material.

Obviously Infinity War/Endgame played out quite different than Infinity Gauntlet from the comics. But the core of the story was there.

Current comic sales are in the 200k range for the top sellers. That is just going by the paper copies. I’ve not seen any numbers on digital sales. But the classic stories have sold millions between the original run and reprints.

Yeah, that's the main universe Galactus. FF took the swarm idea for him from the "Ultimates Universe" version of him. It wasn't new for the movie. Marvel did a line of alternate universe comics for while. The movie took the swarm idea from that. Ultimate Extinction was the story arc. It's the same alternate universe that gave us Miles Morales as Spider-Man (Ultimate Spiderman). My point was that the swarm was Marvel's idea, not the movie's.

It sucked in the Ultimate Universe too.
Eventually they had the proper Galactus rip through the multiverse and threaten the Ultimate-verse

Squirrel Girl was going to be featured in The New Warriors live action show that's in limbo. She was gonna be played by Milana Vayntrub.

I didn't mind it so bad. I must have stopped before that crossover though. The Ultimates version of the avengers was pretty awesome early on though. Samual L Jackson can thank it for making him Nick Fury. Besides Galactus proper couldn't have saved the mess that was the FF movies.

Unless they are holding off on this for Disney +, I'm going to say this show never sees the light of day. The whole first season was filmed almost 2 years ago and was ready to be put on Freeform (owned by Disney) and was pulled at almost the last minute. And it's telling that it hasn't been put on Hulu (now mostly owned by Disney) which already has The Runaways and you can watch the current season of Agents of SHIELD and all seasons of Agent Carter and Cloak & Dagger.

I'm going to guess the final product wasn't very good and sensing another Inhumans situation, Marvel will eventually kill this and then try again later.

They're still having the cast do Disney/Marvel functions.

I’m glad they are cutting losses instead of throwing crap out.

I didn’t watch Inhumans. They would be wise to hold off until they get FF going, then try to introduce them in FF 2... the debut of the Inhumans lead directly into the original Galactus story.

It would be cool to see Crystal join the FF even.

They are? I mean that's strange considering only people behind the scenes even would know who they are/what characters they played. I guess that lends credence to it going to Disney+ but it also could be contractual obligations. It's just weird to me they shot the whole season and they've declined to put it on 2 Disney owned networks/platforms.

Inhumans is terrible. It's by far the worst thing in the MCU and there is no close second. Even as bad as IF was panned, it's Breaking Bad compared to it. And I hate saying that because I'm a big fan of Anson Mount and he didn't do a bad job but he was given crap to work with. And the showrunner was Scott Buck....responsible for the first season of IF and the last 3 seasons of Dexter....so see a pattern?

You can't even watch Inhumans on Hulu anymore even though you can still watch Agent Carter. I'm pretty sure Marvel will reintrocuce them later in the MCU and completely retcon the show. Plus originally the Inhumans were going to be used as kind of the "X-Men" of the MCU since Marvel didn't have the movie rights but that was scrapped when the planning to buy Fox was beginning. Originally Inhumans was supposed to be a Phase 3 movie.

That’s actually sooner than I thought.

A 60s based FF could have been great in its own little corner. The Incredibles has a 60s style but also made it contemporary. That would have worked for FF.

But if they want them to be a core to the MCU then it would have to be in the present. They could have Johnny being a vintage car fanatic or something for a nod to the comics.

Shame Chris Evans Cap won’t be around to meet the new Johnny LOL.
