'24 MD CB Ify Obidegwu (Oregon commit)

You moving them to defense to stop Matt Mauck?
No.
I'm keeping them on offense to keep Mauk off the field.

Tennessee had less than 50 yards rushing that game.

Hooker or Dobbs would have broken that defense down with their arms and legs...

Based on what? Star rankings and highlight videos, right? The coaches wanted Gibson and were able to get him. I hope he walks on water. But we are past the speculative value of a "prospect" now. He has to develop and produce.

But you are too profoundly ignorant and arrogant to understand that you "see" very, very, very little of most of these kids. What do you "see" outside of star ratings and highlight videos? One of the best CBs UT has had in the past few years was Moseley. He was a HS QB. Like the rest of us, you have access to a small fraction of the information the coaches have. Unlike most of us... you believe yourself to be an expert critic.

You've beaten the Scott drum for a long time. Get over it. Throughout his recruitment the reports and actions of the staff suggested there was uncertainty about him. Maybe academic or character questions. Maybe something they noticed in his talent or skills. But... after meeting the recruits, putting them through personal work outs, watching every moment of their film, investigating their character/attitude/personality, looking at their academics... the staff chose to sign Conyer and either did not choose Scott or else simply did not win that battle. Maybe Scott just didn't fit their CB profile well for whatever reason.

247's eval says this: "Top-end speed remains a bit of a question mark, but has tools to work with and could blossom into a multi-year contributor in the SEC." The LAST thing UT needs is a CB without good top end speed.

Where he landed may offer a hint. He went to one of the most troubled programs in the SEC to play for a new coach who was fired just a few years ago for character issues. I happen to like Freeze and believe that people should get a chance to repent and set things right. He has been a good, not great, recruiter in the past. However Auburn at this juncture is not the destination at the top of every recruit's list.

There are just so many ways that UT was a better option than Auburn in this moment in time to suggest that he may not be at UT because the staff saw things they didn't like. Maybe they backed off when he fell in love with Auburn for whatever reason.

Pure arrogant ignorance.

Which team are you talking about now?
Why do you even bother with him? Just ignore him.

We definitely didn't play well, in any aspect, in the 2nd half. Not only did Mauck put points on the board, he broke our spirit doing it.

Speaking of garbage,

I just saw that that former GA DE who pollutes ESPN, Pollock I think he is called, is promoting GA's new QB -- who has yet to play a game -- for the Heisman trophy. His case is that, in practice, he is better than Bennett.

That shouldn’t surprise you. Pollack is a grade A douche canoe

Lol. Why do some Vol fans think we couls have contended with one of the greatest college teams ever?
Tennessee had a terrific defensive line that would have been able to generate pressure on Ken Dorsey. That was the one thing that caused Miami problems that season. In both games that they struggled in, at BC and at VaTech, Dorsey didn’t play well and turned the ball over a lot because he was consistently under pressure.

Also, Miami only played two top 50 ranked offenses that season. Tennessee had the weapons that they would have at least caused Miami some issues. Miami was great and most likely would have won, but Tennessee had the talent and some advantageous matchups that would have given them a legitimate chance to win the game.
