'24 MD CB Ify Obidegwu (Oregon commit)

Doesn’t look like the staff kept contact with him unless VQ just didn’t report it
Among your many problems is this one. You somehow think that if you do not know something... that is a green light to fill in the gaps with your assumptions... generally negative ones and ones that paint the staff in the worst possible light.

Price seems to get as much "inside" info as anyone... and the staff routinely takes him by complete surprise. But at least he doesn't try to "fill the gaps" like your idiotic posts do.

Bet you it doesn’t last.

East coast kid with a west coast school soon to be in a conference equal to a Go5.

I’ve praised this staff many times. Just because I’m not part of the cult that believes this staff can do no wrong and tells everyone to “trust X position coach’s talent evaluation” when none have shown they’re able to build a roster capable of winning an SEC championship doesn’t mean I try to point out every negative. As great as Heupel has been for us people seem to forget even his initial evaluation at the most important position on the field was terrible. If Joe doesn’t get hurt in year 1 how long would it have been until Hooker got a chance? I’m just speaking truths. Our DB and OL recruiting simply hasn’t been up to par with the rest of our position groups. We missed on Igbinosun twice, Ja’Keem Jackson, Strozier, Scott, Smith, Ify, and Turrentine still hasn’t been able to lock down a starting position in what is a very bad secondary and outside of landing Mincey and Umarov Elarbee has yet to show he can find a diamond in the rough or beat out a top tier program for a blue chip OL

No. You really don't. You say things like, "I like what they've done" in a non-specific way then go into ridiculous "know it all" diatribes about how they don't know who or how to recruit or build a roster.

Who actually believes that? The answer is pretty much no one. This is a straw man by you to try to evade.

As great as Heupel has been for us people seem to forget even his initial evaluation at the most important position on the field was terrible.
Case in point. Non-specific praise and you think that somehow provides legitimacy and balance to your criticism. I liked Hooker coming out spring that season. I was good with who Heupel chose but thought Hooker could get it done. Heupel, as a good coach should do, went initially with the guy who WON THE JOB IN PRACTICE. That doesn't always lead a coach to the right decision but it is their best bet. Eventually though he recognized the need to make a permanent change.

You weren't at practice or the position room or the video room or have any other insight that would qualify YOU to make a better decision.

If Joe doesn’t get hurt in year 1 how long would it have been until Hooker got a chance?
Who knows? That's not the way it played out. As it was, Milton was available within two weeks and didn't become the starter again.

I’m just speaking truths.
And there is your delusional arrogance speaking out again. You don't KNOW the "truth". You don't know what the recruiting board looks like. You don't know how these recruits actually compare when subjected to an intense, professional evaluation. You most certainly don't know how any of them will turn out.

Our DB and OL recruiting simply hasn’t been up to par with the rest of our position groups.
Really? And you know that how? The only way you WOULD know is if the staff were confiding in you. They're targeting certain guys and they've taken guys without the recruiting site love with "higher rated" guys still in play. Maybe they just know more than YOU?

We missed on Igbinosun twice, Ja’Keem Jackson, Strozier, Scott, Smith, Ify, and Turrentine still hasn’t been able to lock down a starting position in what is a very bad secondary and outside of landing Mincey and Umarov Elarbee has yet to show he can find a diamond in the rough or beat out a top tier program for a blue chip OL
That's stupid for two reasons. One, you don't know where any of these guys fit on the board or what the staff thought of them or whether they're who and what the staff expected them to be. This isn't "truth" your posting. It is pure BS. You don't know anything and arrogantly act like you do.

Two, you're assuming that the recruiting sites are a lot more accurate than they are in determining the difference between a 4* OL and a 3* OL... or DBs for that matter. Some of the guys on that list weren't solitary targets. Sometimes coaches "group" players who are targets and essentially say we will take any two out of that group of 5 because they consider them roughly equal. A single group might be made up of guys with vastly different recruiting site rankings.

As for Turrentine... make up your mind. Either his 4* ranking was the tell all... or he was no more talented than some 3* guys and needs to work and be developed.

Your opinions are worthless.

By the way, who here who has a grasp on "truth" expects any coaching staff to land every recruit they want... even if we knew who they really wanted?

A "great" recruiting average... is a lot like a great batting average. If you get 1 out of 3 you're doing pretty good.
Wrong. They’re supposed to be the “correct” 1 out of 3…defined as the 1 out of 3 that the recruiting board dunce, BelieveTheHeup93, devined to be the best.

So basically, in your opinion, it’s a failure of the staff instead of maybe the recruit just likes Oregon better? That makes sense 🙄
I read it as he didn’t see many recent updates on the kid in this thread, not that we didn’t get him so we must not have wanted him. Man a message board can spiral from assumptions.

You need to have more history (across all the recruiting threads) with that specific poster to really understand the true story.

Nah D4H was not as negative and actually....wait for it.....smarter than this moran.

D4H said the 2016 Vols were the most talented team we ever had. That’s just false. He claimed Dobbs was one of the best QBs we ever had. False. He said Josh Dobbs would be an all time great QB. Not good but all time great. D4H was nowhere near smart.

Dobbs probably the 4th best QB we have had in the 21st century maybe?
