CNN’s Brian Stelter Hits Another Ratings Low in Demo Most Coveted by Advertisers

‘Reliable Sources’ is struggling in category that keeps the lights on

CNN’s ratings-challenged "Reliable Sources" with Brian Stelter continued to struggle on Sunday, hitting a new low in the demographic most coveted by advertisers.

Stelter’s show averaged only 109,000 adults age 25-54, which is considered the most crucial category for news programming. It was the smallest audience among the key demo of 2021 for the often-mocked program that claims to focus on the media but typically bashes conservatives at every turn.

Brian-Stelter-1.jpg

"Reliable Sources" didn’t perform particularly well among total viewers, either. Stelter’s program averaged only 765,000 viewers to finish with fewer than 800,000 for the sixth time this year.

It was a rough day for Stelter, who was criticized on his own program when a guest referred to him as "full of sanctimony," "incredibly repetitive," and the reason why many Americans can’t stand the media.

Fox News’ "MediaBuzz," which is Stelter’s direct time slot competition, averaged 1.2 million total viewers and 287,000 in the key demo to easily top the CNN program in both categories.

Stelter also hit a 2021 low in the category of adults age 18-49, averaging only 73,000 younger viewers.

CNN's Van Jones receives civility award from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos

The CNN contributor has a history of divisive comments.

CNN contributor Van Jones on Tuesday, received the "Courage and Civility Award" and $100 Million from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Bezos made the award announcement in tangent with his personally funded Blue Origin space flight that he planned to award to Van Jones and chef José Andrés. The Amazon billionaire claimed he awarded these two based on their "demonstrated courage" and attempts to be "unifiers" in a divisive world.

Jones accepted the award in a live CNN broadcast anchored by Anderson Cooper.

The award is part of a philanthropic initiative that gives $100 million to an individual for them to donate to the charities or foundations of their choice.

"They can give it all to their own charity. Or they can share the wealth. It is up to them," Bezos said.

Jones’ acceptance of the award comes after years of the CNN commentator making controversial and divisive statements.

For those who actually watch the channel, does CNN actually do any straight-up, commentary-free WWWWWH news during any part of their daily broadcasts?

Has anyone at the outfit ever pondered if that angle - actual news without talking heads yelling at each other - would work and draw in viewers?

NBC’s ‘Today’ has Smallest Audience Since At Least 1991: ‘It’s a total fiasco’

NBC’s storied "Today" was once an iconic giant of morning television, but a devastating collapse in viewership last week left the show with its smallest audience in at least 30 years.

"It’s a total fiasco," a longtime network news veteran with knowledge of the program’s inner workings told Fox News.

"Today" averaged 2.9 million viewers during the week of July 12-16 to mark the first time NBC News’ flagship program failed to surpass the three-million viewer threshold since at least 1991, when ratings became easily accessible.

What's Dumber Than CRT? CNN

763525b1-6817-4b27-aac5-4eaed2007251.png

As we discussed last week, "critical race theory" is a subtle philosophical construct where the answer to everything is: THAT'S RACIST! Teachers hawking this glop are being defended by their journalist allies, who sneer that CRT critics are too stupid to understand the nuances of the theory.

The Aristotelian ideal of this sneer was Elle Reeve's "special report" for CNN -- pre-taped to eliminate any danger of Elle being contradicted by someone smarter, such as a 10-year-old.

CNN's Brianna Keilar introduced the segment by asking her: "Do these vocal opponents of critical race theory actually understand fully what it is?"

(That's what's known as a "rhetorical question," kids!)

Elle: "No." [Bored] "And why should they? It's an academic theory taught mostly at the grad student level. But what they think it means is teaching white kids that all white people are bad and racist. And so, of course they're afraid of that."

They're afraid!!! Wait -- remind me: Who's banning books, again? Who's flipping out about "microaggressions"? Who's demanding that Big Tech censor people? Who's demanding "trigger warnings" and "safe spaces" from speech they don't like?

I forgot what all the "W's" in the WWWWWH stand for, but even those can be less than objective by omission. "Why" if it's included is wide open to speculation and is not even close to being an objective issue; it truly is opinion. With a little selective editing of video and audio, a question asked to guide the response, some fact shown and some omitted, the WWWWWH means nothing. I quit reading the local newspapers years ago because of an article that appeared in both one day. It wasn't even really a political issue, but the reports were so different that I almost didn't make the connection that it was the same story. Every news organization has an agenda - period.

Bezos’ “rocket” can barely reach the edge of space. His big “achievement” this week was replication of a feat first performed by Alan Shepard over 60 years ago at the beginning of project Mercury. He has ALMOST reached the general availability of color tv when it comes to technological progress 😂

Yes, but Bezos has done more to make Chinese junk available to all households than anyone has done before. Apple and Nike are pikers compared to what Bezos accomplished there.

Filthy Liar! German TV reporter is Fired after being Caught smearing herself in mud before filming report saying she helped the clear-up efforts in flood-devastated town

A German TV reporter was fired after she was caught smearing herself in mud before filming a report in a flood devastated town this week.

Susanna Ohlen, 39, muddied herself to pretend she had lent a hand with the clean up effort in Bad Munstereifel following heavy flooding that claimed at least 128 lives in Germany.

She was caught out after an onlooker posted the incriminating video online on Thursday.

I am stuck doing cardio for 40 minutes a day cause I am old and don’t wanna get fat yet. They have fox and cnn next to each other. If you watch them simultaneously it is amazing how two networks can see the exact same topic so differently.

I have yet to see fox stand in front of a burning building and call it peaceful though. Fox may be bias but cnn has lost its freaking mind.

CNN Ratings Are in the Basement So Now They're Going to Do Something to Make It Even Worse

763525b1-6817-4b27-aac5-4eaed2007251-860x475.png

We have to hand it to CNN.

With their ratings in the basement, you might think that they would re-evaluate what they’re doing and change what they’re doing wrong. Of course, that would require some self-reflection and not being completely in the tank for the Democrats. They could go back to what they used to be once upon a time, long ago — something of an objective news network. Then people might actually watch them again.

But instead of that, instead of actually being a real news service that people might want to watch, they’ve come up with a new gimmick. Except the problem is, it’s just more of the same old gimmick. They’re going to debut their own subscription streaming service called “CNN+” next year.

“Much anticipated?” Anticipated by whom? Can we report this tweet for misinformation? Twitter Support, hello?

So they’re investing a ton of time, money, and resources to have…more of the same thing that people are already not going for on regular cable? And they’re going to demand more money for it, too? Oh, this is going to end well. Which is to say, it’s going to completely tank the network and that will be good for the world. It’s sort of hilarious how Brian Stelter pitches it as somehow new and revolutionary. They can’t even come up with a new or particularly attractive name: CNN+? They’re going to make you pay extra to hear the same things repeated over and over again on a streaming service?

Indirect way for Bozos to fund progressive causes. How bold of him. Seems like a made up award. This is why people like Bezos should be reamed by the Bernie Sanders and marxists in America as having privilege.

EXCLUSIVE: An Inside Look at CNN+, the Cable Network’s Premium Streaming Service Launching in 2022

cnn-plus-736x416.jpg

CNN is launching a direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service early next year, the network announced on Monday. The premium content vehicle, dubbed CNN+, is already being touted as "the most important launch for CNN since Ted Turner launched the network in June of 1980."

CNN+ will offer "eight to twelve hours of live programming a day" that reportedly will be less headline-driven than the network's existing programming. For example, the new service will offer "more deep dives" into topics such as racism and climate change. CNN anchors will be "showcased in new ways."

Paying subscribers will also be able to "engage directly with our talent and experts about the issues that matter most to them" as part of an "interactive community" of journalists and their fans. The Washington Free Beacon has exclusively obtained documents outlining some of these new features. Enjoy!

Get an inside look at the journalistic process of the network's most prominent personalities. For example, subscribers will be able to access a live Twitch stream of Reliable Sources correspondents Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy watching Fox News all day to prepare for their show, where they'll talk about what they saw and invite pundits on to explain why it's outrageous.

stelter-darcy-plus.jpg

Fans of Darcy are in for a treat. The Free Beacon broke the explosive story on his cat ownership in September 2020, and was delighted to learn that CNN+ will feature a 24-hour "kitty kam" starring Albert Darcy, the journo's hairless Sphynx that "closely resembles a little goblin."

Every week, CNN+ subscribers will be invited to participate in a lively Zoom discussion with the network's premier pundits, including chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.

Taking service journalism to the next level, CNN+ reporters will show up at the homes of their subscribers' Trump-supporting relatives and ask hard-hitting questions about their social media posts.

More journalists admit and Embrace Bias, dismissing 'fairness' in new era of media

'I do think it is a trend,' network news reporter tells of Fox of press members increasingly wearing views on their sleeve

A growing number of prominent journalists have declared once-bedrock press principles like fairness and objectivity to be outdated and unnecessary since the Donald Trump era rocked American politics, and while some observers appreciate the honesty, others feel blending opinion and reporting makes for a "dangerous time" in America.

As media members like CNN's Jim Acosta and PBS' Yamiche Alcindor became heroes to the left for their antagonistic approach to the president, who derided them and other reporters as "fake news," more journalists are leaving behind the image of the disinterested, impartial correspondent.

In the aftermath of the Capitol riot and Trump's continued claims his 2020 election defeat was "rigged," NBC News anchor Lester Holt won plaudits from mainstream colleagues this year after declaring "fairness is overrated." In his acceptance speech for a journalism award, he added it's not necessary to "always give two sides equal weight and merit."

CNN's John Harwood, an outspoken liberal in the vein of Acosta, publicly thanked Holt. CNN's "Reliable Sources" newsletter called it a "sharp critique of bothsidesism."

Left-wing New York Times Magazine writer Nikole Hannah-Jones recently said "all journalism is activism," and Lauren Wolfe, the former New York Times editor who got fired after saying watching then-President-elect Joe Biden head to Washington gave her "chills," wrote this month it's "better to be open about my views on the issues I cover."

Disgusting that they could devalue what they supposedly stand for. I wonder how they would feel about professionals in medicine or engineering taking the same approach when it affects lives. It's no different for them because people often act on the "news". Lester Holt (and his ilk) has always been a lying POS.

REPORT: Post-Fox News Shep Smith Plagues Staffers With ‘Temper Tantrums’ At Failing CNBC Show

Former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith’s new CNBC show has been plagued with low ratings, and anonymous sources allege that Smith throws “temper tantrums” on a regular basis, according to the left-wing outlet The Daily Beast.

Smith clashed with prominent Fox News hosts, including Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, which ultimately culminated in the anchor leaving the network abruptly in 2019. In 2020, Smith began hosting “The News with Shepard Smith” on CNBC. The former Fox News host was reportedly offered a salary of roughly $5-$6 million – around $25 million less than what he was reportedly paid at his former network – and CNBC chairman Mark Hoffman provided Smith with a large number of resources, allegedly fostering resentment from the other talent at the network, according to The Daily Beast.
