This is the Football forum correct?

This the Vols Football Forum. Where you discuss Vols Football topics. With everything that's happening with Tennessee football, I'd rather not have this forum spammed with off topic issues. IMO TIFWIW

Ok. So, i withdrawal my objection of this topic due to the thread title edit.

Please accept this completely random gif as my way to apologize for being such a stickler:

Speaking as a Christian who most of you folks for it automatically bad mouth us on this issue, I have no problem with medical marijuana. I dislike the pain killers and other drugs for the horrible side effects, and this stuff doesn't carry the risk. I have a wife with lupus, and nothing really works for her. Maybe this would help her. I know our situation is off topic about football, and I didn't read no comments bashing Christians, I have been automatically attacked over it before though. Just figured I'd throw my opinion in cause I do think it has benefits.

Unfortunately, the illicit use of marijuana is, in my opinion, the reason further research has not been completed. MOST proponents of medical marijuana are only looking for an angle to promote recreational use. The current levels of misuse makes a strong argument against any further development.

Players who feel the need to give in to temptation in times of pain should consult the team chaplain instead.

I'm glad this mindset is slowing going to pasture in the upcoming generations. Have you done any serious research on the drug? It's proven to be FAR safer than alcohol, the argument I always hear "dopers are gonna cause accidents" makes zero sense when compared to alcohol. I'm also in the belief that if what you're doing isn't affecting anyone else, it shouldn't be a problem. Let freedom ring

No I am not a researcher. I am however frequently exposed to individuals who habitually use recreational drugs and see the broad spectrum of detrimental effects upon physical and emotional health and destruction of families. You know......all the things drug users aren't at all concerned about.

So everybody who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic and it will eventually tear apart their home?

You act as though there is no such thing as a responsible user. If you seriously believe that everybody who has smoked weed fit into the stereotype you posted above then you couldn't be more wrong.

Have you ever seen marijuana cause detrimental effects? Other than based around it being illegal?

From my medical background, it actually makes sense. Say you have a bad muscle sprain. After RICE and stabilization, you basically need proper nutrition(high protein diet and vit c), and time. However, swelling only increases with spasms or reaction to pain. A little Mary Jane is basically a CNS and PNS depressant and muscle relaxer in one. Less need for pain meds loaded with APAP which is bad on your liver and thus affects the healing process. All natural baby!

+1 for the green feet

The question always boils down to whether it is a type of person who would use recreational drugs that actually cause a problem or the drug use itself. That is the typical foolish argument of a drug user. Look at this thread as an example. Not a single contributor has attempted to "tell" anyone to stop using drugs and yet so many are so quickly on the defensive. That alone tells you there is a problem.

And what would be your response to posts comparing alcohol? If something is illegal and the tiniest amount can get you jail time, fines, hurt your future employment, that is the problem. You say "nobody is saying not to do it" but again, you couldn't be more wrong

Why do you feel the need to defend drug use if it is not a problem? One other quick question. Why is it that so many individuals arrested for violent crime and/or hard core drug arrests are also found in posession of or under the influence of pot?
