Medical Treatment Options (The off-season Friday night completely off topic thread)

The revenue stream is already there. Why not regulate and control and put that money back into America instead of the cartels?

This we can agree upon. The only way to successfully regulate it, in my opinion, would be to tax it at such levels that the government would protect its revenue stream. To do that requires legalization and factors we have already discussed prevent that.

And this circles back to the argument regarding legal alcohol and tobacco. Aren't these proven killers with actual facts/statistics to back up that argument?

LOL haven't used that expression in 30 years. Had a lot of fun back in the day "dragging cot."

I always get a kick out of how these threads play out. It is ALWAYS the same thing. Something about trying to reason with drug users or something, I don't know LOL. Sorta loaded on the front end, I suppose.

Yeah and I always love the hypocrite who posts that he sees all this bad from pot use and we're supposed to buy from your extremely LIMITED persepctive that what you say is obviously the norm, so we have to keep it illegal.

And I really hope you are for the criminalization of tobacco and alcohol, and you dang sure better be for the banning of guns; otherwise your concern for society rings quite hollow.

With legalization it would be much easier to control. Ask any under 21 person what is easier for them to get, weed or beer. It'll be weed. And if we could educate people on the truth of marijuana instead of the just say no policy and finding every possible way to demonize it, that would in turn eliminate "abusers". As it stands right now, taking a few hits is considered abusing. There's a difference in responsible use and abuse, just as with alcohol.

And then we get back to what you want to be the truth. The pro pot community goes into full meltdown in the face of evidendence that does not support their opinion. On the other hand, many of us realize the self regulating nature of this. Hey if pot is so great, why have you people been so ineffective with legitament acceptance?

You had the nerve to call someone else simple-minded? Are you seriously this stupid?

What I want to be the thruth? Like how you want "gateway drug" to be a physical entity? It is actually accepted by the majority of the population today, the prohibition of it isn't even 100 years old. The problem is the old school crowd who won't do the research or won't admit the war on drugs has been a failure.

And they likely have no idea why it was ever made illegal in the first place. It was 100% political.

Exactly, Rockefeller's biggest competitor of plastic was hemp. Also, the first drug czar was on the hot seat of the disbandment of his position. So they started targeting the most widely used drug in the world, marijuana. He made the reefer madness movie and falsely indoctrinated people into believing the hysteria to be able to attack marijuana, and thus, keep his job.

LOL.....my opinion is not your problem. The movement to legalize pot is what? 60 years old? Your problem is 60 years of effort have yet to provide adequate information beyond, "I want to get high!"

Actually the problem is people like you, who have the attitude of "If the government says it's illegal, that's good for me".

You probably think Reefer Madness is a true story.

Oh I thought it was about athletes using it as a means of pain control. Carry on...

AHA....you Sir are Madame are brilliant. It is my premise that these threads always have recreational use at their core. A quick contradictory post usually will prove this to be true just as it has here.

I worked collegiate sports med for 10 years and never heard one athlete appeal a failed test claiming it was for pain management. Never heard any talk in passing about blazing cause their knees or back hurt, and I heard plenty talk about it in general.

So why are you unable to effect change? Over 60 years, you would think any positive attributes would win out.
