Memphis......I got two words for yah

Conf America is worse than their regular crappy self. Memphis will go undefeated the rest of the season - or lose at most two games.

That makes their RPI wins even worse. Again they may make the tourney but they will end up with a high seed if they cannot get a top 100 win.

Where is a book taking bets with Xavier giving points? Memphis will slaughter Xavier.

I don't know that anyone's taking bets, but sites like RPIFORECAST and I believe Kenpom give you a projected winner or spread for future games, and Xavier is favored.

Top 10 Cincinnati didn't "slaughter" Xavier and that was in Cincy. Their other 4 losses are by a combined 10 points, so 2.5 points a game in those losses.

What are you calling for 20 point game? You seem to have quite the confidence in Pastner, calling for Memphis to finish 26-5 AT WORST. You sure you're not a tigers fan? That's saying they go 17-2 at worst the rest of the way lol.

He does seem to know more about Memphis than UT.

A lot of UT football fans who grew up Memphis basketball fans. I did as well but changed while attending UT. Somehow I found myself rooting for Buzz over Cal. But I have a couple of friends who went to UT who would root for Memphis basketball.

I still say pick a team. I can see it if you grew up with it.

I had friends that were UT football fans and Ky basketball fans. That is just pathetic. Pick a damn team and stop hopping on bandwagons.

Well when you grow up in Memphis basketball is big. I grew up when UT was not very good in basketball...Wade Houston was coach in middle school. Growing up in Memphis though most of us didn't want to stay home, and I was also a UT legacy as my older brother went there. My first football game in Knoxville was probably against Akron in 89. I know East TN has a bias against Memphis but there are a lot of Memphis kids who go to UT.

There are so many Memphis basketball fans that have a particular sec team during football season. It's pathetic indeed. But at the same time, I can somewhat understand from those that grew up during the times when Tennessee basketball wasn't that good.

It's not necessarily that people pick an SEC team to root for, while that does happen. But a lot of students raised in Memphis don't want to stay home for college. Thus, you become a football fan of the school you attend. I became a fan if UT much earlier because of family, but that is a common occurrence.

Why combine the game Friday with 4-5 more loses? And, who in the world on their schedule after Friday poses a remote risk for a loss? Face it, this is a huge game for UT. Much more so than for Memphis.

In fact, weren't you just saying after beating Memphis we'll be ranked? Or was that not what you meant?

I tried telling him.

I'd rather be associated with these schools than the craptastic CUSA:

Cincy
UConn
ECU
Houston
Memphis
Navy
SMU
Temple
Tulane
UCF
USF

That's a motley crew of schools along with CUSA. Besides Cincy, Temple or UCONN, who really jumps out at you and gets you excited?

Go beat ECU! Go beat Houston!!! Beat Navy!!! Beat SMU!!! Beat Tulane!!! Beat UCF/USF!!!

I can hear the excitement now. Good Lord.

So UM is going undefeated in conference?
Beating Xavier & Harvard?

So 27-4 you're predicting, loss to UT?

No, but we had 3 losses in a better conference with a worse team last year. No reason to think we won't have a better record this season.

In the end, we win our conference and we're in. UT has WAY less margin for error.

If you're a fan of an SEC school, I'd lay off berating other conferences this season.

The SEC is pretty bad.

I'll berate CUSA and what will be left of the Big East all day long and twice on Sunday. That is a joke list of schools and don't even get me started in regards to football. Good Lord.

The SEC is about all sports, not just one sport. They're pretty damn good in all of them. CUSA/Big East? LMAO.

Not this year.

Your right lets go back to CUSA to play UAB, FIU, ODU, Charlotte, UTSA, and MTSU...that would be SO much better

I'd much rather play Cincy, UConn, Temple, UCF, USF, and trips to NO to watch us beat Tulane sounds fun.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Navy back out...that's 10...invite USM and Tulsa...call it a conference.

Not this year.

Yeah, and how many times can you say that? And how many times can you say CUSA sucks in hoops every year?

If you're trying to compare the SEC to CUSA or even the Big East, I'll continue to laugh. The Big East will be a joke after all the Catholic schools leave. Anyone with half a brain knows this.

I'll give you UCONN, Temple and Cincy, and hell, even Houston. They once were worth a damn. And I'll bet UCONN and Cincy will go elsewhere in due time.

But UCF, USF, Tulane, ECU, Navy and SMU? LMFAO.

On paper you have a better team this year, but a loss to UT Friday and im not sure you can argue that anymore.

I prefer to have a tourney bid locked up and not rely on winning the conference tourney. If that's the method you prefer then more power to you.
