CJP is an excellent recruiter. Clearly 1 of the best in the business. The question now becomes does he finally deliver in 2013-14 with a team that represents the level of talent he is bringing to the table.

If Dixon becomes eligible in 2013-14 Memphis has 4 senior guards. Three of which have to be top 15 guards in the country in terms of college players.

What are your thoughts on the Dixon waiver (I know additional info has been sought)? In or out?

This is the year CJP needs to deliver big or I think he deserves to feel the heat for underachieving when the lights are the brightest as a bench coach tactician.

I think he's a better shooter than Pressey at the same age (and I hope he makes better decisions late in games), but that comparison has been thrown around a lot. As has Shane Larkin.

JP is a great recruiter and now he has Robert Kirby who is one of the best assistant coaches and recruiters in the country. If he doesn't deliver there is something seriously wrong (unless there are multiple injuries).

You'll see some 4 guard lineups this year with the 4 seniors. Jackson and Crawford will be starting most games. Dixon will be sharing the PG spot with Jackson. It's a good problem to have (guys like Johnson and Dixon coming off the bench).

Everyone seems to think Dixon will get the waiver based on what happened with Dez Wells last year. If he doesn't get it, there's a chance he won't play another game in the NCAA. His 5 years will be up.

If there's an epic fail, he should feel some heat. He's making around 2.5 mil and has one of the best rosters in the country and a couple of the top assistants in the country. So, yeah, I would hope there's some heat if they don't do well. People want to see at least a sweet 16 this year.

Here's a newsflash for you; You don't get a National title for recruiting. Come back when Pastner actually "does something" with his beloved recruits then you can talk trash to us. Till then you're just making yourself look more stupid by spewing out senseless garbage.

Probably true about the shooting. Pressey was pretty smooth last year though. He did struggle a bit late in some tight games. I watched his dad, Paul, play for Nolan Richardson at Tulsa in the 80s (not sure why Phil didn't get some of his size). I thought his dad was one of the most underrated players in the NCAA. Anyway, the comparison to Pressey has been brought up at White Station for the past few years.

Chiozza is a consensus Top 40 recruit while Robinson and Magee are borderline 4*. They may end up being better than Chiozza, but right now, the only thing making you say that is bias.

Next you'll tell me Pookie is better than Kasey Hill.

Chiozza may be a pretty good PG by his Senior year with Florida. Both Robinson and Magee will make an impact faster, IMO.

I'm not sold on the sub 5'10" PGs in the college game.

Lol you get him gator. Even tho your a gator fan, I think everyone's tired of all the delusional Memphis fans posting on here just to start stuff. They don't care if it's UT fans or a gator fan they just wanna argue, it's pretty pathetic

Not that it matters, I've been on this board a while now, but you guys sure talk about Memphis A LOT. Perhaps there would be less Memphis fans if you guys talked more about the Vols and less about Memphis.

I come to talk about basketball, and because I'm interested in UT basketball. I thought this was a board to discuss UT basketball, but not that being a UT fan was a requirement for entry.

Now when have I once talked "crap"? You may not agree with me, but overall I'm respectful of your program, coach and players (except the players that I really don't think are good enough to play at UT. I don't denigrate them personally though).
