Auburn and Georgia draw next to nobody to their games. Show me any indication either of them consistently draw a crowd and I'll consider your position on the matter.

Memphis's RPI doesn't matter...they're still far and away the best team in that conference.

I loathe University of Memphis. I don't do it out of jealousy. I don't do it because of a "rivalry." I hate that school and it's students because of their thought that they could ever be on the same level as the University of Tennessee.

As for which job is better, the only thing that Tennessee has going for it is the conference in which it plays. Memphis has the edge in every other category.

Anyone that thinks that Tennessee is a better job than Memphis basketball wise is insane. Memphis has it made.

No, you're right....but they have in the past....well, actually....they had some decent teams for short periods but I really don't know about attendance-they showed fairly well at UT when I was younger and showed up more. I honestly thought they (Georgia, at least) had some decent crowds at home for a few, oh....3-4 year stretches?

Really, Facilities, State school, Fan base and all Memphis has is it's in Memphis. Pearl turned them down. They had to hire a young asst.that was already on their staff. The Tommy Bowl is one great arena. TN. top 5 in attendence last few years. Without the NCAA crap,Tennessee today is the better job. I'm not talking about tradition. Remember Tennessee football has more tradition than a lot of schools LSU, Florida, Georgia But they are better jobs because of their in state recruiting.:loco:

They had it made against Kansas, but couldn't make a FT. Memphis is overrated. They had a nice run when Cal was there but CHOKED! Memphis ain't Sh!t! Tennessee has owned them. Check the scores ? C-USA. Why not join the Big East? O' they haven't asked. Rarely is Tiger High on TV.

1. The Big East has 16 teams. They don't need more.
2. The rest of Memphis athletics can't tread water in the Big East
3. Memphis has had the opportunity to choke. Can't say the same for Tennessee.

And as for the previous post, the 1st sentence makes absolutely no sense. All that you need to know is that the Tigers play in the Forum, which is a premier venue for college athletics. Memphis has the ability to sell kids on getting to the NBA, playing in one of the best venues in college basketball, and still playing in front of their family on a nightly basis.

Oh, and somehow Memphis kids grow up wanting to play basketball at the University of Memphis. I don't know why they'd stay in that shthole, but they do. Memphis basketball is life in Memphis. If you've never lived there, you just don't understand. The grip Memphis basketball has on the city is so great, that no "rivalry" game is worth more than that recruiting advantage.

Tennessee's facilites are top notch. There's media that has toured UT.s BB facilites that say there as good as anybodies. Big East just added TCU. It's a BB conference. If Memphis brought anything the would offer them. They bring nothing. Get in a BCS conference then talk to me. Why not debate the other pts. Scared like Tiger High?

Honestly there's absolutely no continuity to your posts. It's very difficult to follow. I can't understand the bad points you're trying to make.

All in all, Memphis basketball, regardless of the head-to-head record, is a stronger program than the Vols. If you can tell me how many recruits, since Pastner took over, are ranked in the top 50, then do the same for Pearl's entire tenure, I'd love to see you try and spin those numbers.

You are saying Memphis has the better player (recruits) but TN. has beat them? Then Pastner's one great coach. You know exactly what I am saying. Memphis is Tiger High! If Tennessee was out of the SEC, they would be grabbed up quicker than you can say Tiger High. Memphis brings nothing that a BCS Conference would want. Nothing, keep living in a dream world buddy!

If Memphis had anything other than basketball, they would. That's their problem. They literally do nothing but basketball. And their AD is a moron.
Also, I never said Pastner was a great coach or even a better coach.
You still didn't answer my question. Last year (09-10) Tennessee was much better than North Carolina. Why did UNC still have a better recruiting class? Same reason Memphis does. They are a more successful program that has also had more recent success.

I'm sorry that you're too dense to think that Tennessee has more pull on Memphis kids than Memphis.

Look buddy. Where did I ever say TN had more influence on Memphis kids. I said TN was a better job and gave reason why. Good reasons why. Memphis can keep their kids. D Rose was from Chicago and that was your best team. You and Memphis just keep living in your dream world.

I laugh at the fact that you think I'd ever cheer for Memphis. If TN is a better job, why are we still out-recruited by Memphis, every single year?

So the better jobs get the better players. That just crazy. There lot's more to recruiting than that. Clueless. Recruiting about relationships, AAU coaches. Budgets, mothers and life coaches. That why all those Memphis recruits followed Cal to UK. Big east is basketball. If they don't want a great program like Memphis, then your not a great program. HELLO!

Like I said, the only thing Memphis has is that it is located in Memphis. Yes, there are good players in Memphis. TN will recruit Memphis. Like they have in the past. If Memphis is so superior to TN, why does Pastner not want to play them. Is he scared of losing Memphis players to a bottom feeder. Georgetown and other Big East teams only play BB. But the Big East don't want a great BB program like Memphis. The Big East must be stupid or maybe Memphis is overrated. I'm done with this trend. We will have to agree to disagree. GO VOLS my friend!
