I'm not going to argue with a name on a website about who or what I believe in and worship. Forgive me for not taking the bait, but I'm going to go enjoy the rest of my CHRISTmas eve with my family. Merry CHRISTmas charger and everyone else. Hope all is well with you and yours.Do you question people with a cross instead of a picture of Jesus??
If how or who you celebrate the birth of, is affected by how someone tries to be polite to you (or those that hit like for you) then I suggest you re-align your priorities.

Ok. I'll keep playing. "X" 2000 years ago was written to mean "chi". Another word for Christ. Nobody I have ever met in my lifetime, 1982-2014, has ever said anything about chi and Christ in the same sentence. Lots of things have changed in the last 2000 years. You and I could have this debate via pencil and paper or gaelic writings or whatever we want. We chose to use the internet. "X" in today's society means to omit or cross out (to me and 99% or the rest of America). When I see xmas it is a missed chance to remind someone of the true meaning of Christmas, IMO. I'm not sure what we're even debating about at this point. I was just asking why, as a consensus, do people not write it out.
It's not a holier than thou crowd. It's the fact too many are taking christ out of Christmas and their lives. The more we accept it the worse it gets. I appreciate the well wishes just don't want Christ excluded especially when it's all about Him anyway. Merry Christmas VolnationJust the fact that someone does and posts something as nice as the OP, Then it is always followed by the hollier than though crowd, is annoying.

WWJD is not a special holiday set aside every year to celebrate the birth of our savior.Your personal objection is noted.
You never answered an earlier question.
The cross is a mere symbol same as the X.
Are you also offended by it?
Is it a "missed chance"?
They both are representations of the same Christ.
What about WWJD? Are you offended by the J ?

Offended by the cross? No.
Do I worship or wear one? No.
Christ is being taken out of everything. Even your "happy holidays" saying is commonly used by people and organizations who usually can't or won't say "merry Christmas" out of fear of backlash and lost revenue.
I'll never be convinced that all people who write x-mas know what "x" used to stand for 2000 years ago vs the way it's nonchalantly used today.
All arguments aside. I really hope you have a great Christmas. I have a 21 month old boy and this is his first Christmas that he's old enough to be excited about it. I can't wait to see him in the morning, so I better get some sleep.
Sorry to hijack the thread. Didn't mean to get this far off track guys. My apologies.
I'm sorry we have picked the eve of the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ to make such petty arguments but I'm done with this conversation with this, you don't like me and I don't like you and think you're a petty and shallow individual. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous new year.one of the...no..no..the dumbest thing i have seen posted.
Perhaps the term "Happy Holidays" is used out of respect to all faiths that celebrate this time of the year and not necessarily a slight to your Christian beliefs?

Charger. No hard feelings.
I kinda think of happy holidays as pandering to people who want to celebrate the gift giving aspect of Christmas but not the birth of Christ. You may be right, though doyle. Something for me to ponder on.
Lol. I'm a Joseph as well. I appreciate the shout out to my son. Most churches have a cross as a symbol, I would be surprised if yours does not.
Honestly KS, I have no hard feelings towards you, and whisper (or sing) lol, Merry Christmas to your little boy from me. BTW my real name is Joseph, yes as in....
Christians were once persucated and killed, I have great respect for those who carried on in those times and get a little offended when modern Christians suggest they are "under attack". We are the number 1 religion in the world and are far from disrespected.

My church actually does not have a cross believe it or not. Anywhere.
We believe in worshiping a living Christ and not focusing on the death but the resurrection and the promise of eternal life.
