Meyer placed on administrative leave. No joke!

They're doing a pretty terrible job of "protecting" him so far.
This is exactly the kind of story that ESPN loves to pounce on. They will kill Meyer over this for the next couple of weeks... especially "Outside the Lines" with Bob Ley.

hog88 doesn't have a clue... in more than one forum.

Yeah, I agree. It is a totally inane show, but I actually watched the first segment of First Take just now because they were talking about this. It was 10 minutes of a non-stop evisceration of Urban. Even the host of the show was getting in on it.

I like Get Up alright and watch it sometimes...this was the one time I wanted to see SAS and the boxing douche unload on somebody.

So since Brett McMurhy has been so spot on during the Ohio State fiasco, does that give more credence to McMurphy reporting Fulmer was sabotaging the coaching search?

Reports of Fulmer sabotaging the coaching search weren't shocking no matter who was reporting them. That entire fiasco was just 2 factions within the athletic department fighting for control, and it was about time the other faction won.

To be clear - I think Phil probably got involved post-Schiano. I don't think Phil sabotaged a would-be Mullen hire, and he wasn't leading the anti-Schiano charge. I think he did probably get involved when Currie starting flying all over the country like a chicken with his head cut off after the offer to Schiano was pulled. I know Currie was extremely incompetent, but there's no way all of those offers just fell apart on their own. We reportedly "almost" hired something like 3 or 4 coaches before Currie was fired himself. It isn't shocking if there were back channel conversations occurring somewhere else.

McMurphy's info was the same info that the panel was investigating. The way it was presented almost word for word. I think McMurphy has a source inside the athletic department that was feeding much of this. Way too specific for an outsider to know.

Edit: and with Urban's "documented" issues with memory, that isn't a good look for head coach.

I don't think this is over. After reading some of the material I'm not convinced some laws weren't broken here.

Former Ohio State trustee Jeffrey Wadsworth told The New York Times that the board's punishment for Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer didn't go far enough, a decision that prompted Wadsworth to resign from his post.

Wadsworth, who once chaired Ohio State's board of trustees, told the newspaper that he was the "lone voice" advocating for a stronger punishment for Meyer, who received a three-game suspension from the board for his handling of issues surrounding former assistant coach Zach Smith.

Trustee Resigns

I think this is just beginning. I'll be very surprised if Urbie coaches another college game. That whole investigative report fiasco has so many wtf/holes in it investigative sport journalists will be sending the BoT thank you cards.

He's at least going to coach out this year. I wouldn't be shocked if he "retires" with a nice little golden parachute after this season, but it won't happen before December.

I hope he stays there under a cloud of constant suspicion. This can only help our recruiting, imo.

Oh he'll coach many more years at tOSU....can almost guarantee it

Based on what?

'Never coaching a cfb game again' is probably premature but I will be shocked if he finishes out the season. I think legal proceedings will be initiated and that will be open another whole level of information requested. Once that becomes evident he will turn on his exit plan.

He is probably having some health issues as we speak. Probably looking into a "medical hiatus" for a couple years. Then take another high profile P5 job. Saban has to retire sometime.

also lol at him not lying is "not deliberately lying". and yet he was still suspended for not upholding the high moral standards of the university. Well if it wasn't the lying and covering up for a wife beater what high moral standard did he fail to uphold?
OSU didn't care what he did or didn't know nor what he did or didn't do about it. Or whether he deliberately lied about it. The 3 game suspension was about saying "we investigated" (Knowing the country wide backlash less the state of Ohio) and he is being punished. They hoped everyone would let it go after a few days of radio and social media ranting and they would get back to business but that hasn't happened. Now Meyer is trying relieve some of that pressure by explaining what he didn't get in trouble for. The problem is no one is buying at this point. And Zack Smith is not making this any easier for Meyer or OSU.

Oh yeah I know. I just think to anyone paying attention this is Urban Meyer rubbing our faces in it. He is telling us that he doesn't have to lie about it anymore, he has the school lie for him.

Word is and many around Columbus are saying that the heat on school officials to fire Meyer at the end of this season is building.
And there are those within the squad who are privately getting behind Schiano to take charge.
When asked about the whole Jerry Sandusky situation and Any possible involvement, those pushing hard for Schiano said that Tennessee made a mistake by not taking him in. They say that what Schiano observed in the Penn State showers was only every day horseplay between a father type figure and his mentoring young students. They say that Schiano has confirmed that he witnessed several of these events with Sandusky and his young protégés playing what he thought were good clean fun games like “let’s hide the soap on a rope” and “let’s see who can rinse the other one off the fastest”.
Schiano himself has stated that he agrees with another great coaching legend, Missouri Offensive Coordinator Dooley, who believes that proper shower discipline is extremely important.
Stay tuned for further Buckeye developments.

Unfortunately, no link.
This talk is all very deep state.
Deep Thee Ohio State.
They don’t want any of this out in the public for fear it might damage team morale in a year where they think they will make a run at a natty.
