Yeah, I agree. It is a totally inane show, but I actually watched the first segment of First Take just now because they were talking about this. It was 10 minutes of a non-stop evisceration of Urban. Even the host of the show was getting in on it.
Reports of Fulmer sabotaging the coaching search weren't shocking no matter who was reporting them. That entire fiasco was just 2 factions within the athletic department fighting for control, and it was about time the other faction won.So since Brett McMurhy has been so spot on during the Ohio State fiasco, does that give more credence to McMurphy reporting Fulmer was sabotaging the coaching search?
I think this is just beginning. I'll be very surprised if Urbie coaches another college game. That whole investigative report fiasco has so many wtf/holes in it investigative sport journalists will be sending the BoT thank you cards.
Meyer then went on to quote the investigative report to counter claims that he knowingly lied at Big Ten Media Days, and that he wasn't suspended for condoning domestic violence by Zach Smith, but for failing to act sooner "against a troubled employee about his work-related issues."
Based on what?Oh he'll coach many more years at tOSU....can almost guarantee it
OSU didn't care what he did or didn't know nor what he did or didn't do about it. Or whether he deliberately lied about it. The 3 game suspension was about saying "we investigated" (Knowing the country wide backlash less the state of Ohio) and he is being punished. They hoped everyone would let it go after a few days of radio and social media ranting and they would get back to business but that hasn't happened. Now Meyer is trying relieve some of that pressure by explaining what he didn't get in trouble for. The problem is no one is buying at this point. And Zack Smith is not making this any easier for Meyer or OSU.also lol at him not lying is "not deliberately lying". and yet he was still suspended for not upholding the high moral standards of the university. Well if it wasn't the lying and covering up for a wife beater what high moral standard did he fail to uphold?
Oh yeah I know. I just think to anyone paying attention this is Urban Meyer rubbing our faces in it. He is telling us that he doesn't have to lie about it anymore, he has the school lie for him.OSU didn't care what he did or didn't know nor what he did or didn't do about it. Or whether he deliberately lied about it. The 3 game suspension was about saying "we investigated" (Knowing the country wide backlash less the state of Ohio) and he is being punished. Word is and many around Columbus are saying that the heat on school officials to fire Meyer at the end of this season is building.
And there are those within the squad who are privately getting behind Schiano to take charge.
When asked about the whole Jerry Sandusky situation and Any possible involvement, those pushing hard for Schiano said that Tennessee made a mistake by not taking him in. They say that what Schiano observed in the Penn State showers was only every day horseplay between a father type figure and his mentoring young students. They say that Schiano has confirmed that he witnessed several of these events with Sandusky and his young protégés playing what he thought were good clean fun games like “let’s hide the soap on a rope” and “let’s see who can rinse the other one off the fastest”.
Schiano himself has stated that he agrees with another great coaching legend, Missouri Offensive Coordinator Dooley, who believes that proper shower discipline is extremely important.
Stay tuned for further Buckeye developments.
