Meyer tells recruit that he would die for him

If your team was coming off consecutive 13-win seasons, 2 NCs in the past 4 years and a 5-game winning streak against your hated division rival, I'm guessing you'd be tolerant of whoever your coach was.

Tolerant to a point.

Our previous coach could have had Meyer success, and there would still be things he did. that would be hard to tolerate for me.

To better days.:hi:

That's a fair point. Clearly you'd expect your coach to play within the rules, or at least make an attempt to know the rules.

To better days indeed.

Yet you sound so intrigued by it all...

Not really, but when the Gators are so flamboyant about it, it's quite hard to ignore. I'm curious how I sound intrigued.

You won't tell me, but that's ok. As long as you like the alternative culture that has popped up since Meyer got there, you're a much more tolerant person than I.

You're intrigued because you and others here are so quick to play the "Meyer is a homo" card. How silly is that?

It's played and it makes you look foolish. After all, your boys are winless against that homo coach.

A lot of people lost against J Edgar Hoover...didn't make him any less of a cross dresser.

That "thing" that is different is that in four years he won the SECE 3 times, the SECCG 2 times, and the national championship 2 times.

That is why people want to reach so hard to find a basis to criticize him. Its getting old.

This is crap and you know it. A story like this never gets legs if your coach isn't an effeminate, whiny narcissistic douchebag. The fact that this was believable by even a few says a lot about public opinion of the guy. Public opinion isn't everything, but it wasn't shaped that way based upon titles. Where would that crap go if someone said it about roughly all the other D1 football coaches in America?

There is an extremely simple cure for that.

Stop reading other teams' message boards.

Why is it that you, KPT, and few others insist on making us look like a bunch of whiny, jealous little girls to rival fans? Don't you realize they feed off of idiotic reactions like this?

Yeah, we're all sitting here in jealously. Look at all the threads here making fun of Saban's personality.

he's gotten away with this behavior BECAUSE he is winning championships, not the other way around.

In a related story...the best head coach candidates in college football told ut that they'd rather die than live in Knoxville and coach the vols.

vince's kid decided it would be a good resume builder.

It's awesome how no Vol fans can get on VolNation if UT so much as purchases a new lawnmower for Shields-Watkins, but there's always plenty of bandwith for a Gator troll that has never added anything of value.

That really doesn't matter to me. I'm mature enough to realize Fulmer was awful this decade (accounting for four of the losses) and Kiffin was just straight up outmanned.

Honestly Kiffin hit the nail on the head during the SECCG when he said UF has better talent and Bama has better coaching.

Urban Meyer the coach does not scare me. The state in which he recruits does.

That "thing" that is different is that in four years he won the SECE 3 times, the SECCG 2 times, the national championship 2 times, made out with Tebow, Cried, nuzzled him on the sidelines, cried like a wimp, "retired" in an effort to obtain publicity, un-retired in another effort to obtain publicity, cried like a wimp some more

That is why people want to reach so hard to B***H-Slap him. It's getting easy.

Going to really show my age on this one.

This reminds me of Culture Club fans arguing that Boy George wasn't gay.
