Not sure what you expect of a freshman in his first start against a tough D but he’s 17 of 24 for more than 200 yds and a TD. That’s pretty solid. He isn’t going to be perfect. He’s a freshman and has his team in contention. Yes he has to learn to throw it away but he has played pretty well overall.

I expect him to understand what to do on a 4th down play. He's a D1 QB who has probably been playing football since he was 5 years old.

Not holding onto the ball for 5 seconds on 4th down shouldn't be a foreign concept to him.
