I heard this morning that Texas & T-A&M may try & join the SEC. I can't see this happening.

I haven't really paid attention to the SEC expansion rumors but didn't they say they want new areas without an established SEC powerhouse? The school I see that has a realistic chance at getting an invitation would be Texas and maybe another school or two from that area?

Miami and FSU in the east, Texas and Texas A&M in the west

makes perfect sense and would be a completely unprecedented and unrivaled juggernaut conference.

I'd like it, not sure if Miami would move/budge

not sure about the ACC, it's revenue sharing, and how much Miami currently gets in it

well....makes sense in parts with the fans wanting a strong conference....payment and finances wise i'm not sure it turns out the same. I actually think texas coul bed possibly taking a pay cut in this case

Texas is expected to stay in the big 12 while they add on a most likely TCU and someone else

plus texas is expected to be either working on or launching it's on sports network soon....there's a bunch of things (combined with how quickly they said no to the big ten) that seems to suggest their stand is not budging, and maybe even considering independence (depending on how their network does if it goes)

Miami would bring nothing to the SEC. It is a small, private university which brings little academically outside of a good meteorology and oceanography program. They don't ever sell out their stadium unless it's against FSU (sorry UF fans). In addition, their basketball team is mediocre, at best. They haven't been a major force in any collegiate sport outside of baseball since they joined the ACC and will continue to be that way.

epic fail on Miami's part... you see what happened to them once they left the Big East? no conference titles or BCS games since then... so why would they want a HARDER schedule?

Miami needs the SEC much more than the SEC needs them. Fan support is terrible and their facilities are worse.

That said, UF fans would bring 40K fans down to Landshark Stadium to watch Randy Shannon get pounded.

So, would a three loss team from the SEC still get in the BCS NC game over a one-loss Big Ten or Big Twelve team or even an undefeated non-BCS team? please discuss.

I say bring em on, it's not like we're going to be winning the conference anytime soon either way.

Any team outside of the Big Ten should be killing themselves to get into the SEC.

The Big Ten has a higher revenue share than the SEC, both are head and shoulders above the other conferences in that regard.

Miami should jump all over the opportunity to join the SEC, whether or not Florida votes against it will be interesting though, I think FSU and Miami will both get offers and that will not be good for Florida.

It's apparent that there is going to be expansion, I say if your going to expand, then go all out and get the best teams that you can.
