Miami vs Florida

Agree 100% lawgator. Last time I checked, this was a 60 minute game that they play. From the opening kick off to the last whistle you play and you play your hardest! If you don't want a team to score, stop them. I'm sick and tired of the belly achers who whine about running points up. It's not the opposing team's obligation to let up on the gas. It's your responsibility to stop them. If you can't, then you are the reason for your team's disrespect.
If they're kicking a field goal then they were stopped. Sometimes in college sports some sportsmanship should be exhibited. CUM could've punted or run the ball.

Should have punted on the 15 yard line. Should've also fair caught the punt the play before. Shouldn't have sacked Marve the final two plays of the game. Please, our kicker hasn't tried a field goal in his career. We were on the 15 yard line. Game experience for our kicker before coming to Neyland is crucial, if you deny that you are irrational. If we would have beat you by 3 last year, you wouldn't be crying about Meyer "running up the score". Instead we throw a crooked number up there and you act like it's the end of the world. Coaches are paid to win football games and score points. The other coaches are paid ridiculous amounts of money to stop the other team. Coaches can still show sportsmanship and score a lot of points. Ridiculous post.

If you would have beaten us by 3 last year, I have to think the 3 points would be a game clincher, not cheap points at the end. That doesn't count as running up the score.

From a sports writer.......sums it up in a nutshell.....

"Shannon might want to take a look at the polls today. I'm sure he hasn't because Miami hasn't been in one in a long time, but if he does look he'll notice that Florida jumped Ohio State into fourth. I don't know if the late field goal had an affect on the pollsters as much as the Buckeyes trailing Ohio University in the fourth quarter did. But 26-3 does look better than 23-3 to voters who didn't see the game.

Which isn't even the point. The idea behind the field goal was to give Florida's young kicker a field goal try before Florida heads on the road.

"I told him I wanted to give him a shot before we go to Knoxville," Meyer said Monday. "He was all jacked up."

Sorry, Randy, if your feelings were hurt because Meyer was trying to help his team. And you might want to explain why you went for a fourth-and-3 with a 45-7 lead and 4:25 remaining in the game the week before against Charleston Southern.

Look, I have no problem with coaches trying to score late points. If the game isn't over, you don't stop playing. And as long as we have this system we have in college football, it does matter what the final score is. Look at Georgia, which dropped a spot in part because it gave up 21 late points to Georgia Southern."

Also I never heard anything from Coach Spurrier saying that Nebraska ran up the score in the NC title loss to Nebraska or Jim Tressel saying that the Gators ran the score up on the Buckeyes in their national title loss.

They jumped OSU because Wells his hurt and OSU struggled in their game, not because of the margin of victory. That FG was all about ego and covering the Vegas spread. As much negative publicity this got, do you really think the FG mattered at all in the minds of the voters?

Yeah, it had nothing to do with tOSU playing horrible against a very inferior team, right?

I guess you all can't read....."I don't know if the late field goal had an affect on the pollsters as much as the Buckeyes trailing Ohio University in the fourth quarter did. But 26-3 does look better than 23-3 to voters who didn't see the game."

Really 26-3 looks better than 23-3, I don't think so. If his statement was the field goal had absolutely no bearing with pollsters then I would agree.

Post a link to the website you found that, and I bet it was either from a Gainesville newspaper or a UF homer. Probably both.

Gainesville paper

That was written by Pat Dooley. You would have to give Urban an enema to get Dooley's head out of his butt.

If they really wanted to try a FG, then why did they throw to the end zone on 2nd down?

Why were the starters in with 2min left? If any team scores with backups in, then I have no problem with it.

I can't believe people are still crying about this. Shannon did the same thing against Charleston Southern. It was 45-7 and he goes for it on a 4th down, then he cries about a field goal. Pathetic

He'll eventually have his Shula moment.

Kick on 2nd down?!?! Give me a break. It is a 60 minute game, just ask Phil or Chavis. Secondly, we a young team and a bye the following week, I'm sure he wanted to get them as much work as possible. Tebow was under pressure the entire game until things settled down late in the 4th. I have no problem with it.

On the paper front, most people aren't talking about it. That is the thing. Read some of the other posters and see what they think. Like I said Phillip didn't say anything about the score last year, did he??

What would you do if Meyer left Tebow in the game with 2 minutes left and a 20 point lead and he got injured and was out for the year or had a career ending injury?

What are you talking about? He didn't say anywhere kick on second down. All he is saying is you should run the ball there and not launch it into the endzone and everyone is right his Shula moment will come. You mess around with this stuff and it bites you.

Please. It's getting old hearing UF fans make excuse after excuse about their scummy program. You guys just don't get that you're classless and from living in Gainesville, I don't expect you to. I can usually find intelligent fans to have conversations about football with. It's almost impossible to find that in G-ville. You guys are too worried about being cocky and talking smack to give an intelligent opinion about your's or anyone else's program. Then again, what else should I expect from "The King of College Sports." What amazes me is how cocky you guys are after a mediocre 4 loss season and the fact that you guys are historically a joke.

I'd rather be playing in the now than living in the "historical" past, personally.
