Miami vs Florida

In the scheme of things I suppose I don't care if there is a huge reason for it or not.

Miami should grow a set and move on. I had a bunch of respect for their new coach, now I'm not so sure. UM coaches of old would have said simply that they were going to kick their players' butts to get them ready to win those games next time. Cannot believe they are feeling sorry for themselves over this.

Randy teaches them respect and to have class unlike your douche bag coach...oh and the old miami coaches let's just say a few of your gator players would have been hurt

It's funny to see a gator fan talk about respecting a coach. When your coach cries at the podium after a loss and scores junk points at the end of games. Good stuff there...

I told you so...UF is going to get their @$$ kicked in 2013

I'll worry about that then.

But put it this way: If in 2013 the Hurricanes need to talk about a field goal in the game in 2008 in order to get amped for the game, God help them.

Well, I think given your odd bitterness we know that your feigned outrage is because it was the Gators and not because of the actual issue. Don't see you waxing poetic about that needless score in the East Hampton versus Jones game.

Had Florida not tried to score and taken a knee, you would no doubt complain that not running plays showed contempt for the other team.

but I'm for the Spurrier response. It's the opposition's job to keep us from scoring, not mine.
I agree with that 100% and wouldn't have a problem at all if they ran a play on 4th down, but lining up for a FG with 25 seconds to go and a 20 point lead is weak IMO.

Absolutely I only paid attention because it was the gators. When East Hampton or Jones becomes a regular on our schedule I'll start paying attention to them.

And had meyer done the appropriate thing and just handed off between the tackles, I would complain. I would complain that apparently meyer had acquired some class.

Let me ask you this. Did you see theose Miami players? Do you think any of them gives a flying f that the Gators kicked a meaningless field goal at the end of the game? Do you think we hurt their feelings? Are they going to quit the game because we were mean to them? Do you think they were humiliated by that?

Of course not.

No one is going to care about that except for fans of rival teams who are just dying for something, anything, that they can grab onto. If you can't root for your own team, lash out at your rival and just make up crap to claim you are classy and they aren't.

If that makes you feel better, okay.

Imagine a Gator fan not understanding the meaning of a classy win. It's ok LG, we didn't really expect you to anyway.

and it will still be the first thing on Shannon's mind when they play them

Urban's just getting his shot in while he can. He knows that once Randy Shannon has the orange 'n green machine running again that his recruiting will drop off some and he won't be getting all of those elite athletes. I don't think UF is as successful the last few years without Miami and FSU having down periods.

That's okay....your coach has run out of excuses for putting a mediocre team out on the field. "We're working like heck to get better" doesn't cut it with 85% of the fans. Go ahead and say "well at least we made it to the SEC Championship game", yeah and you lost. Plain and simple. 59-20 is all we can say. And at least our coach has emotion. All Phil does is smirk and clap his hands. It is sad when it is considered junk points against a similar opponent but not when you blow out an inferior team. Give me a break!! I'm sure you all won't try to take out your loss on UAB this week then huh??

Meyer won't be the coach of the Gators in 2013. He'll have moved on to the NFL by then.

I'd be willing to bet they win the ACC within in the next 3 seasons.

Wouldn't it be great if Miami finished the year strong and played the Gators in a bowl game? I would love to see Randy Shannon get payback.

did you really mean to come off as smug with this silly statement?

Wasn't trying to be smug. Really did not think about it in that vein at all. Just what I think is going to happen. As young as he is, it seems to me a shot at the NFL is inevitable. Don't you think so?

not at all. Nobody in the NFL has any interest in a Spread guy who doesn't coach D.

Not unless he mysteriously turns over a new leaf and adopts a philosophy where the QB doesn't run the ball 15 times a game. Not saying he's not a smart guy, but that offense would get a QB maimed in the NFL.

I think he's done that specifically because he had the right kind of QB at Utah and then at Florida.

We won't be kicking FG's with under a minute this weekend.

Seems you get a little emotional like your coach that cries after loses.

You're coach being a scumbag made you lose respect for another coach who is using Urban's scumbagginess as a motivational/recruiting tool? Wow, that's about as fair and balanced as Fox news. It amazes me that Gator fans just don't get why people hate them. I try to explain it to my friends and co-workers all the time and they act like I'm crazy bc I'm a UT fan.

Herban can dish it out but apparently cannot take it. He's still whining about mean old Mark Richt having his players jump up and down in the endzone. :cray:

Interesting prognostication. I'll be sure to check the box score to see if the Vols try to score (or do score) late in the 4th with a huge lead.
