"The NCAA will unveil the findings of its investigation into Miami athletics and any proposed sanctions on Tuesday morning, about 2½ years after the probe began and more than eight months after saying the Hurricanes did not "exercise institutional control" over former booster and convicted felon Nevin Shapiro's interactions with the football and men's basketball programs. The NCAA said Britton Banowsky, who chairs the infractions committee, would discuss the decision on a teleconference at 11 a.m. ET, one hour after the findings will be released. Miami officials are expected to not comment about the decision until that teleconference concludes. . . .The Hurricanes have said they will not stand for major penalties beyond ones they have already self-imposed, and have the right to appeal whatever decision is looming."

I'm never going to underestimate the incompetence of the NCAA, but I'm expecting a hefty penalty given some of the infractions.

As punishment they have to play in Tallahassee in a couple of weeks.

"According to documents reviewed by The Associated Press, the NCAA asked the Hurricanes to provide, among other things: Information about how many scholarships Miami is using in football and men's basketball this academic year, how many Miami plans to issue in those sports next year, details of all postseason play in the last four years, and a review of all games that the school expects to play on television in the next three years.

That suggests the NCAA was considering scholarship reductions, vacation of some records, and a TV ban as possible penalties."

Its been too long to give them the DP, though they certainly deserve it.

But I would expect an approach that knocks them back on their heels, revenue and recruiting-wise, for a solid three years. The place was absolutely out of control and the administration was well aware of it. Can't let that go just because it took someone 7 years to come forward and turn them in.

Sucks for Al Golden. He may bail on them because of these sanctions.

We will never see this one again since the TV contracts are with the conferences now.

I really expect them to accept the UM self imposed penalties as enough and maybe throw in a couple years of probation. NCAA screwed this one up too bad to bring the hammer down.

They've already self imposed some pretty big penalties on themselves. The NCAA is so corrupt. Of course Miami was too, but at least they've taken steps to rectify that.

If all that stuff had been going on at Tennessee, I have little doubt the NCAA would drop a bomb on our program.

I'm sure whatever Miami gets will pale in comparison.

1) Do you really think the almighty NCAA has spent like 2 years and millions of dollars investigating, will just give the U a slap on the wrist????? I don't think so!

2)I have friends down here that are U FANS. You should hear them tell me that the SEC isn't so good and most ACC teams could beat the SEC!!! BLAU BLAU BLAU. Who has UM played this year to be undefeated??????

They beat the Gators, ok I give them that. Then they beat North Carolina, FAU, Savannah State, South Florida and Georgia Tech and plays the powerful Wake Forest next!!! PLEASEEEEEEE!!! And now their fans are saying they are not in the top 5 because NCAA hates them. Have they ever thought maybe strength of schedule has something to do with it?????

Not a good sign. Not a smart statement either. The NCAA seems to only bring the hammer down for the single infraction of "Didn't show us the respect we feel we deserve."

9 schollies over 3 years, 2 year bowl ban (already served).

Basketball gets some extra stuff.

So basically, Miami skates. Justice is finally served.
