Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

We need a game changing Rb and dyer needs a top college program he still has two years of eligibility left. I hope CBJ can make this happen.

If you had been reading the Michael Dyer thread that already exists, you wouldn't need to get your info from BR.

This one isn't going to happen. Those rumors were built on the back of a lie stating that Coach Jones and Dyer were mutually following each other on Twitter. That is untrue. The only active account for Dyer has been untouched for 18 months. If Jones starts looking into this possibility, it'll still be a long shot because of Dyer's past. Coach has also stated he's happy with the backs we have, so don't get your hopes up on this one.

Only thing this goes against CBJ "high character" statement. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it. Everybody deserves a fresh start. It's the multiple fresh starts that become issues.

Thats not how it started. They have know each other and have had a relationship. Very possible it happens. Not saying it will or wont but its definitely not just a twitter rumor.

Given that this would be his fourth college in two years, we should probably consider this his third or fourth fresh start so far.

Hopefully his character has changed, especially being at a Baptist college. So it may not rule him out. Im sure CBJ will talk to his teachers and everyone involved to see if he has matured and grown up. Hopefully Dyer sees this as his last chance to show he has changed.

He's gotten kicked off the team at Auburn & Ark St. I think he's an arrest & bad publicity waiting to happen. It might be nice to get him, if he could behave, but that seems unlikely!

Dyer didn't get kicked out of Auburn. He transferred because he wanted to follow Malzahn.

His arrest was a few yrs ago and didnt play football last yr. I believe he will be fine and if not then his loss and last chance. Wont be bad pub for UT or the Coach's.

Dont believe that he has. Think too many people are making way too big of an ordesl out of this. His arrest was yrs ago and dont believe he has had any law problems. I think he will be worfh bringing in.

There are two Michael Dyer Twitter accounts
one that is probably fake and has 1 Tweet..hasn't stopped Vol fans from sending him messages to it as if praying to the football Gods for Saint Michael to descend from Twitter Heaven and save our team

Think some just look for reasons or just make stuff up to sound knowledgeable. UT would be his 4th school but only second playing football.lHe had to sit out the yr after he transferred but to my knowledge hasnt had any legal problems. Really not risky at all.
