What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

The problem is I gave you to much credit for having common sense....

Dyer is two years removed from the College game and he has zero clout. Except for his two years at Auburn which was 4 and 3 years ago.

If a handgun and weed are the issues that got you kicked off a NC SEC team...Why not get rid of the gun and weed so that you want go through this experience again. It is the very reason he got Kicked off the Arky State team...So we are suppose to be his savior. Nah.

Malazhan should take him back at Auburn don't you think. Even Malazhan knows better. Did not LSU close the door also...

I feel for him.

Honestly, from everything I've read, all the evidence against him at any point has been circumstantial. He's never been convicted of anything and the only thing he's been cited for is speeding.

The gun doesn't worry me. He carries it legally. It's only an issue because of all the liberals that have made carrying a gun seem like a sin.

The only thing I would be concerned with is the weed and he's already agreed to take weekly tests with whatever team he signs with. Either he stays clean or he's out, simple.

I have carried a gun all my life also....what I have heard his gun was in the trunk on the stop....

Seems like he continues to move through life on the edge.

Good back. He will more than likely end up at So Fl. Or Louisville. Higher risk of getting in trouble. Did or has he visited UTK?

I feel like we have turned him into a must have the anointed one....that will be our best RB the day he steps on campus....this is a total unknown and may not be true.

Jim Brown, who was arguably the greatest running back in the history of the game, was 6-2, 228 pounds. He led the NFL in rushing eight of the nine seasons that he played.

Yep...that's about it. :salute:

also being tall and big and strong when running through the hole he will be giving out more licks than he gets when that 200 pound safety steps up to fill hole it want be that 179 to 190 pound rb that he normally lays the wood too. the only thing about being big and tall is people will be going at his knees to try and get him down.

Kind of like when EB attempted to lay out Tebow

Adrian Peterson is 6'3" 220lbs. Straight up and down runner. Eric Dickerson was 6'4" 220lbs also a straight up and down runner. Those two guys beg to differ with your opinion on tall RB's

Can't wait for the Auburn game. This will put us at 4 good RBs with Dyer, Neal, Lane and Hill, with Hurd on the way. 4-5 good RBs seemed to work out well for LSU.

We all know Lane is one mistake away from dismissal, not to mention injuries, so a little insurance is great. Plus I don't think he has taken many hard hits lately, so he should be in great shape. One or two years til pro, he will do his best to impress.

Nothing better than a fresh, talented RB in the 4th quarter!

This guy was the #1 HS RB in 2010. He's a bowling ball and a heck of a running back. If this is our missing piece to put UT back into relevance, bring him in and keep him on a short leash... but no way do you pass up on this kind of opportunity. The best way to avoid getting the stink eye here is to support the kid and be optimistic. Take, take, take.

Right now he is in a DYER situation. hahah!

Seriously, he needs to impress the pro scouts with performance and maturity. Most of the risk on on Dyer. We just have to open up a spot on the roster. He knows CBJ is a disciplinarian too.

Coach Jones and Coach Thigpen have always been interested in and gone after Dyer. The above article is true, but was written in Feb of this year after NSD. The firm no in that article came from no other than our biggest thorn Jimmy Cheek who stated that he wouldn't allow Dyer here. The staff and others have not given up on trying to get Dyer in at UT. Basilio has verified this as well. I know he is wacky and silly on his show, but his inside info is usually accurate. As usual, Cheek is in the way of athletics.
This is a win for UT and Dyer, if it happens, because Dyer is down to his last chance to play and to have a shot at the NFL. This alone is his motivation to stay clean and trouble free. UT needs a strong running game this year to help the struggling new WR's and QB situation and Dyer along with Neal and Lane will give us that edge. Lets hope that our staff, and alumni can move Cheek out of the way.

Time to turn the other Cheek!

I hope coach got the number to the KPD.

Hurd will take a lot of shots with his height and upright style--an easy target. I'm a skeptic--He is WAY tall for a RB. Hope I'm wrong and he's great.

Wasn't Eric Dickerson the same body type and runner? Seems I remember him doing quite well:)

All you wussies on here badmouthing me for wanting Dyer are nothing but minions for Chancellor Butt Cheek.

Dude, you may want to change your screen name and maybe everyone will leave you alone, and by the way over 50% of Volnation agrees with you in wanting Dyer. The stats are on top of the page. But seriously, the screen name needs to be changed...
