Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

Adrian Peterson is 6'3" 220lbs. Straight up and down runner. Eric Dickerson was 6'4" 220lbs also a straight up and down runner. Those two guys beg to differ with your opinion on tall RB's

A co-worker and myself were talking about Eric Dickerson just yesterday. Dude was a beast.:good!:

Dyer on the other hand is an SEC Championship RB currently looking for a new gig. I'm with the 50% of UT fans that want more than a serviceable RB...one on the same level as Jamaal Lewis...not guys that keep it respectable and nothing more. Hurd and Paulk will more than resolve this problem but we still have to get thru 2013.

I think Herscel Walker, Marcus Allen, OJ Simpson, Jim Brown, Arian Foster, Marcus Dupree and D Mac would also have issues with his opinion.

Honestly, from everything I've read, all the evidence against him at any point has been circumstantial. He's never been convicted of anything and the only thing he's been cited for is speeding.

The gun doesn't worry me. He carries it legally. It's only an issue because of all the liberals that have made carrying a gun seem like a sin.

The only thing I would be concerned with is the weed and he's already agreed to take weekly tests with whatever team he signs with. Either he stays clean or he's out, simple.
Bull****! It is not liberals who would make an issue of this kid carrying a gun. If he was a white country boy with a legal gun this wouldn't be the issue it is. But because he is black and from the projects, he unfortunately easily fits into the "thug" stereotype that CFB/NFL is trying to shed itself of. The fact that he had a handgun just makes it sound more like he was up to something to many people. You can be damn sure that Auburn isn't getting rid of it's star RB due to pressure from "liberals" in south Alabama. But to be more precise, there are federal laws and mandatory sentencing for carrying a weapon while in the possession of illegal drugs in certain quantities. These though drug laws were certainly not put in by "liberals". I have no problem with this kid carrying a legal weapon (nor do I care if he smokes pot occasionally).

And correct me if I am wrong, but by admitting he had smoked a blunt, he is no longer "legally" carrying a concealed weapon. I am fairly certain that most if not all state carry permits prohibit you to carry while using an intoxicant. Had he just been speeding and carrying his legal weapon, we never would have heard of this, nor would Auburn.

After a quick google search, Federal law prescribes up to ten years in prison for possession of any firearm while under the influence of any illegal drugs or if the person is a drug addict (proven how?). The law does not differentiate legally carried firearm or not.

There are people in the penitentiary serving long sentences because they used Michael Dyer's gun to commit a robbery. Dyer could have been prosecuted as an accessory before the fact, but he testified and walked.

Heard for the longest time he'd be at Louisville, now there are rumors about Tennessee getting in the mix.
I think if you are any SEC East team, you would like for him to end up playing for Charlie Strong. The Vols get a dynamic running back like that with their offensive line and it becomes a very different situation on offense in Knoxville this season.
