Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

so it's final that he's to The Ville?

It's not final, but he's almost done with the enrollment process. He's registered, but until he's completely enrolled, staff/coaches can't really say anything. He has until August 26 to finish his enrollment, and he will immediately be eligible to play football with the Cards for the '13 season.

Tennessee did more than kick the tires on Michael Dyer but at the end of the day he ends up ironically in the charge of Charlie Strong. Yeah, that Charlie Strong. The guy who UT wanted to hire instead of Butch Jones. Is that some stuff or what? Dyer on UT's team this year would have been very interesting. Guy can play.

The Tony Basilio Show

Excerpt from Basilio's blog today. Basilio is not the best source, but given a lack of other sources (insider or otherwise), I think it's an interesting data point.

I think this Dyer thing is dead, personally, though it sounds like we pursued it more than I had realized.

Truly believe that Dyer was black balled from the SEC....in silence of course....

I'm with you and I assumed it to be the case from the beginning. Similar situation to Patrino last year, you don't cross the league hierarchy...regardless of how desparate you are. Things have a way of not working out when you do that. (Kiffin/Orgeron)

I'm kind of surprised there was not more violence. If we actually "kicked his tires", I would think that gun would have made another appearance.

The running backs season last year is not a reflection of their ability but a reflection of piss poor coaching and Bray who did not know anything about game management....

Furthermore, he was only playing for draft position....

The coaching staff was never on the same sheet of music because Dooley was a micro managing coach that had no insight or foresight.

Truly believe Dooley took a lackadaisical approach to coaching.....thought it would be easy to throw a bunch of players on the field and win. His Evaluation of talent will show this year when our players are finally properly coached.

When it was rumored that Graham did not want to stay on staff with CBJ because of the hours of work, that was a true reflection of the environment of the staff....

Lol he micromanaged everything AND took a lackadaisical approach to coaching? That's pretty tough to do!

Yes he did with the players...with the media he micromanaged information flow.

Someone that does not open up some of the program to the previous players...and throws players under a bus.... that has to perform a major overhaul of staff.....indicates he may have be a control freak....

Baggett said I don't have to put up with this crap from a punk...he left.

Sirmon and Wilcox exited stage left. Others.

Admit it he was in over his head from day 1....

when players pull the kind of stunts they were pulling then there is a problem....Yes most definitely he was Micromanaging coaches, players, media, and bottle necking the information system....

Ask the players, no tears shed in that group.

CBJ has open the door back up and look at the difference in Attitudes in the players, media and staff (given) as a result.

As soon as I saw a similar post in the recruiting thread I thought the same thing. I guess imaginary friends do continue after elementary school. Btw, my friend at rivals just informed me that CP is going to explore his options at coming back to UT to complete his college career once he realizes the NFL isn't what he thought it would be. TIFWIW......

Umm ok?

Brandon Red

Grew up with him, he was a grade above me through 1st-12th grade.

I now know why I never subscribed to 24/7 if guys like your friend is working there...He obviously has no clue what he is talking about and without ANY evidence what so ever you went and posted this.....Don't get out much do you?

It was a rumor only which clearly stated and reiterated. No need to be a jerk

I don't want this guy and know one else should either. We have several good guys. Lane, Neil, and hill. They're all vfl's who've been here and earned their opportunities. Both lane and Neil were 4* prospects. Behind what should be a great line they are going to get their yards this year!

Think we each have a right to want or not want him. Just sayn. And neither of our 4* guys have lived up to it so far. Lane has the most upside if he can fully trust his knee. But Dyer is on a different level.

He's been out of the game for a while, but if he gets back and is ready to go, UL is going to be a team to watch.
