Michael Sam, Missouri DE, Is Gay

I suspect the answer is no.

Now, will you kindly address the issue you keep dodging?

Let's try it again...since it's your position that locker rooms should be segregated based on sexual preference, please share with us...in your opinion...the midset of gay men leading you to that conclusion.

Bump for Ernest T....still waiting on your answer...

If my child were gay, you're damn right I would want them to have a role model like that to look up to.
Perhaps you are one of those people that would prefer that their child be miserable to the point of suicide over how they are? You know, better dead than gay?

If thats what you took from my post all I can say is WOW! Seems to me your just looking for an argument....try somewhere else!

Why stop there? I mean electricity is obviously the work of the devil. And all diseases are because you have a demon, or you did something really bad.

I have a demon inside because I watch dirty movies? Great, someone call a priest to perform an exorcism. :cray:

Who said anything about being humped or groped in a shower?

Well, why else would a person be uncomfortable being nude around someone who may or may not be attracted to the same sex? The nudity is the key component here, otherwise why bring it up? Clearly there is a something different about being nude around them and based on what you insinuated with the whole "it'll be fine if I watch your wife in the shower" thing you must believe that a gay person can't control their sexual urges. Or maybe it's as simple as the idea of a dude who might be gay, in the shower with you grosses you out, that's ok, but don't assume that because that a guy is gay he's in the gym shower looking for love.

....or assume he's remotely interested in the guy all freaked out over showering with a gay teammate.

Interesting. Would you please post a reference to this infinite statistic? I would like to read it.

Why? It's not going to make a difference. You will continue to believe whatever you want. You'll stare, doe eyed, at facts and completely ignore them.

Luckily your thinking is considered archaic.

I don't think the word of God will ever be archaic. At least to Christians. It's teachings will always be relevant in this kind of society and people will still find joy learning God's Word.

That doesn't specifically address homosexuality and furthermore, you have to understand that at the time the Bible was written, they had no concept of homosexuality, that would be as foreign a concept as the internet to them. What they saw were same sex abuses against children(and general abuse of children and slaves in some instances), that is the abomination they talk about, there was no conept of two members of the same sex having a caring, loving relationship.

The bible has a very clear picture of homosexuality. Leviticus says you shouldn't lie with a man as one would lie with a woman. How much clearer do you need it?

as straightforward as Gen. 19:31-35 which condones daughter's sleeping with their fathers. You follow everything the bible "says?"

“Then the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of the earth. “Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him that we may preserve our family through our father.” So they made their father drink wine that night, and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose. On the following day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve our family through our father.” So they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.”

It's a story about an event what happened. That doesn't mean God was condoning it. It's in there to show how Lot made a mistake and the daughters equally sinned. I don't see anywhere approval is shown for the actions taken. It's simply an account of what happened in mu opinion.

I have and will continue to respect and appreciate your thoughts and insight on the matter gcbvol. I wish you all the best and will confirm your assertion. I truly do not know the experiences that you and your community go through on a daily basis. My wish is for people to not base judgment upon you due to your sexuality, but rather value you as a member of the human race and allow for all the distinction and respect that we all wish for ourselves.

You're one of the better posters and provide great insight on this subject. Thank you for that.

Appreciate that very much. I respect your honesty as well. I'm glad we can have civil discussions.

Leviticus is in the Old Testament which was done away with the passing of Jesus Christ.

Ernest likes asking questions, but he dodges answering questions like Condredge Holloway rolling out on 3rd and 6.

Oh I'm sorry there Lawrence. Didn't mean to ignore you. I was waiting on bamawriter's infinite reference material. I forget, what was the question or what was the question you are trying to assign to me?

He's responded to my posts, but honestly, you can give him facts and statistics, a well thought out response designed to be thought provoking and he'll just ignore them. He believes he is right and nothing short of god himself coming down from on high and telling him is going to change that.

Interesting. Would you please post a reference to this infinite statistic? I would like to read it.

It's a tad old, but I don't feel like putting in time to search for a more updated version. But in terms of forcible rape (not including statutory), a DOJ study found that:

8.7% of rapes were male-on-male
0.8% were female-on-female
0.2% were female-on-male
90.3% were male-on-female

The study doesn't delve into the sexual preferences of the victims, but one would have to assume that at least some of the crimes were gay-on-gay. So, at the bare minimum, a woman is more than 10x more likely to be assaulted by a man than a straight man is to be assaulted by a gay man.

Why didn't the bible figure out slavery was wrong till the 19th century. Or that women and minorities should have equal rights till the 20th century? Some book of ethics you have there.
