Guess Michael Sam coming out to his teammates before the season didn't hurt the locker room. #Mizzou went from 5-7 to 12-2.

Huh huh yeah guys! See! Gay makes everything better!

Good on you Sam! Gay is beautiful! Don't ha8! I'm starting to really come around y'all! I might think gay is the way to go! I want people to be that supportive of my sexuality!

Just imagining it happen and all. Beautiful.

Micheal Sam is about to get drafted into Heaven!

Lol. But for real. Good for him. I'm supportive too. Just wanted to make that known. This guy over here Snake Anthony supports Gay!

Publicity stunt.

Now I have to see this on ESPN every day for two weeks straight, draft day, the day after the draft day, the opening game of the year for the team who drafts him, etc...

Who cares. Keep your choices to yourself.

He's a damn good player, though.

Flame away.

Why would a college football player do this for a publicity stunt?

Does Tom Brady have to hide his relationship with Gisele?

Does Tom Brady have to hide his relationship with Gisele?

You just made the most crucial statement in this entire thread. You're absolutely right: Tom Brady doesn't have to hide his relationship with Gisele (his heterosexuality) because it's openly accepted. This is a fundamental part of his being that obviously doesn't have to be "political" because it's so accepted. Michael Sam wants to be able to have the same acceptance. This is why he has to come out about his sexuality. It's not for publicity; it's for simply enjoying the same privileges as Brady without having others discriminate against him.

Sam has to turn it into a "big deal" now in order for it to one day be considered no big deal by future generations.

I agree, gays must have a guilty conscious or feel they have to hide their sexuality and then feel they want special treatment when they come out of the closet.

As long as they stay away from me and my family, I don't care.

Hey I hear Sochi, Russia has some good properties for sale that you and your family might like.

Pretty much @ 100% chance you have a gay nephew, niece, cousin, uncle or sibling in your tree. Maybe infested with gaeity

As far as I know, I have no gay or lesbians on both sides of my family.

What will happen if a homosexual interacts with your family?

Good question, guess I will have to cross that bridge if or when it happens.

I have gay friends

They are no different than anyone else

They love, hate, hurt

They just choose to love someone of the sam sex

I don't understand why and I don't particularly like it, and they know that

But they also know that I treat them no differently than any other friend

exactly. well said. All you straight, white males live in a privileged society. I'm tired of hearing people say "I'd like to tell the world I'm straight!! and get a news story." Well guess what, you can legally marry the person you love in all 50 states. You can run to Vegas and get drunk and hitched in 10 minutes, but people who have had lifetime committed relationships have to go to one of 17 states where their love is recognized. You don't run the risk of going into work tomorrow and getting fired for saying, "I'm straight" but if you were to go in and say I'm gay, you can legally be fired in 33 of 50 U.S. States, including TN.

When you can lose your job, your income, your right to marry the person you love because of being straight, THEN we'll write you a damn news story!

Until then, it takes the courage of people like Michael Sam to help change the public discourse so our children can live in a world where people don't have to come out, because then, no one will truly care.

Well, the math is the math. Would there be any reason whatsoever, at all, why they would keep it from you if they were?

Not saying it is right or wrong, but in all of our life times none of us will ever see the day where homosexuals (especially men) can walk around openly gay and not be looked at different. The majority of the public will always look at them differently. That is real talk.

They're gay, not the walking dead.

Also, could we stop regurgitating Ralph Reed hackneyed lines from circa 1995?

Hate? I never said I hated gays.

I don't like it, just like I don't like Bama. I've lived 9 years amongst Bama fans and tolerated them. Some were good friends until they start talking smack.
I don't want gays talking smack to my kids. Get it now?

This is the part you are not allowed to think much less say. If you think homosexuality is wrong, you must exchange places in the closet.
