Michael Sisak Reporting Joe Pa is Near Death

I'm sorry to read this. Pancreatic AC is the toughie. It's what took out Tom Cronan (Joan's husband) and Patrick Swayze.

They beat the odds in that they lived a lot longer than expected, but the prognosis is still pretty rough.

I hope that your dad has a good relationship with his docs, and that things go well. Prayers lifted up for him and for your family.

Thank you very much for the prayers.

Another I would add to your list is Steve Jobs. He is the one my dad always references by saying "If A billionaire like him can't make it how can I?"

Then we tell him Steve Jobs received no treatment whatsoever. We got lucky in that they caught his quite early (early stage 2) compared to most. To top it off he was in very good health before for a 55 year old. The doctors at UT say he's probably got the best chance of beating it as any patient they've had.

We truly did get blessed when it comes to the doctors and help we've received from UT for sure.

10 minutes ago Penn state said, Eventhough there are rumors about him being dead.... Joepa is still alive and in serious condition...see, volnation isn't the only place where rumors spread through out the fanbase at a rampant pace...

This is not the time or place for a comment for that. Only God can judge him. Prayers go out to Joe Pa family and friends.

I think a jury and judge will do that first. I hope the judgement is just what I said. I'll run it by God first though if it will make you feel better.

Per Josh Ward, the person who broke the news that Jo Pa has died, has already stepped down from his job rightfully so IMO.

Prayers for Joe Pa tonight, I had the pleasure of meeting him one time at a function in Pa. I was in awe to be in the same room with the man. I respect what he meant to college football, before the sandusky mess. I wish it would have been handled better. The xad and other idiot should have called the Police for an investigation of the allegations at the least.

The quest to be the first to report something in the media is becoming almost unbearable....I mean now the death of someone. Journalism has hit an all time low

Steve Jobs had a neuroendocrine pancreatic tumor. Different type of cancer, but also located in the pancreas. It was a slower-growing type, potentially more treatable, although every case is different. Jobs chose to go with alternative treatment, although I read that he regretted his decision later on.

Huge thumbs up for the early catch on your dad's condition at stage 2 and his overall good health. It's usually not caught until further along. Aggressive treatment early on plus a stubborn determination to fight it out can make all the difference.

We make all these plans for how we want our lives are going to go, and then life rises up and whups us in the face...
