I don't know that your statement is accurate about Lws and gruden. His contacts were inside the AD and there was no gruden from the AD. It was all message board stuff.

So it came down to a buyout they couldn't agree on... that's disappointing. Was really hoping to get him.

I think the post BTO pasted was from someone else earlier today. Apparently LWS posted that he did inform UT that he was staying. Calm down.

IIRC LWS was saying it was around a 10% shot at best (and that was to keep the natives happy).

Incorrect. LWS said no pretty quickly. There were several on this site that were claiming Gruden. But LWS continued to say that Gruden was a longshot pretty early on.

Ok, if White is wanting a favorable escape hatch, then that says more about the state of UT's basketball program than it does Hart's negotiating skills. So, realistically, how bad is the UT job?

i have seen him be wrong before but he is definitely one of the more credible posters out there...hopefully this is a case of nah i will stay at LA Tech and we will come back and make a counter offer he will accept. i have hope still since white hasnt come out publicly pulling his name out and expressing his love for LA Tech.

What if the problem is that Hart wants him to agree to a prohibitive buyout so that he can't go to his alma mater Ole Miss next year if/when they fire Kennedy? I wouldn't cave on that, would you?

If true, OUCH.

If it came down to White asking for more of a buyout than Hart felt comfortable with, maybe it is for the best.

Big $$ on the 1st 3 years would not be a big deal IMO. I doubt Hart would do anything in the 1st 3 years no matter what anyway. If White is looking for 2-3 million buyout in year 4 or 5, He's asking a lot for an up and comer.

We'll see what happens.
