A buddy of mine who has some Ole Miss connections just called me to let me know that White has taken the job. He asked me not to reveal him or his connection, but it's a good source. He sent me a picture of the FB conversation with that source. The source was kind of vague in the response IMO, but that person seems to think White is the guy. My buddy is absolutely convinced White is our coach.

I know this all seems sketchy, but I thought it was worth posting.

Who said they changed? Some ransoms on this site? And unbelievers them? Some guy named lwsvol says things have changed so u automatically believe it. Some ppl get paid to report news And some don't. I thought we learned are lesson from the last coaching hire. I did. I made my Effin name gruuden because ppl like bto said deal was done. Nobody on this site knows anything about the situation unless Dave hart has an acct on here. Its all speculation

Picture reveals both my buddy and the source so I can't. His question was "Is White taking the UT job?" Source's response was, "That's the word :)"

Like I said before, kind of vague. But my buddy is confident.

lws is reliable as thy come but when it comes to negotiations things can change quickly

Basketball Time Mag says we'll know tomorrow. It's not over with White yet.

Still hoping for Tyndall on my end of things.

Well I actually know a family who are top donors and I just received a text 30 mins ago confirming what he just said that indeed White is our coach. Things change, but White seams to be the guy. Also, it should be pointed out that my connection also said Hart and Cheek massively low balled Strong to the point he refused to be here, and that Strong was in negotiations to become our coach. The people I know have a family member who is on the hiring board as a donor here, and like I said he sounds convinced it's White as long as negotiations continue down the right path. My donor family also says Cheek could screw up making cereal in the morning too so we will just wait to see what happens.

I know we're not getting Smart, Marshall, or any A-list coach not at an A-list school.

So I will be happy with either White or Tyndall.

So if White is hired, it's told ya so. If White is not, blame Cheek. Sounds like a good out to me.

People on this board are amazing, they are assuming rumor as fact, assuming negotiating points as fact and then effectively negotiating with themselves. When their one party imagined negotiation does not result
an agreement they then then pronounce the negotiation as failed and select another person in their candidate list. Perhaps they should leave the negotiating to Mr. Hart and the would be coach and spend their time determining what they will do to make VOL basketball successful when the
new coach arrives, whoever that might be. :crazy:

Lots of misinformation out there, and info from your usual reliable people I'm starting to question.

Interested to watch this play out, if White is announced I think Hart has done a pretty nice job locking up the leaks and figuring out how to send out mixed signals.

I think this is the case and I expect white to be named tomorrow.

BTO, help me out please with the buyout. Basically shouldn't it be pretty much the same for the coach and the school. Say I hire you at 2 mill for 5 years, but in year 3 I decide you aren't working out. I still owe you 4mill. Now if you decide to leave after three years, do you me 4 mill? Or is there a sliding scale? Thanks.

It's the way in leaning too, got word from someone who would have as good an idea as any. I have a feeling crap is being sent out to your usual reliables, and late tonight early tomorrow we are gonna hear that the deal got worked out.

I never actually realized this until the Zo saga, but there is apparently 2 different buyouts. 1 for if the coach decides to leave, and 1 for if the school decides to fire the coach. Now some places may be different and that number may be the same, but I guess in most cases that's 2 different numbers.

Think probably is the case...that buy out stuff doesn't add up.
