Mostly college sports. Aside from yankees/sox, Pro sport rivalries are ghosts of what used to be. Players move around too much, no allegiance or hatred of other teams, etc. obviously not the case in college - this article is a case in point

Evidently your sports world is also confined to America. Thanks for proving my original point about the bubble.

Well we do live in America.

If you're talking about soccer, I don't consider a ****ty sport where the final is 0-0 really a sport. JMO

What do you think best defines a rivalry and why do you think mich/osu is better?

What the game means to the players and their fans. That's why I think army/navy is the best rivalry in college sports. That game means more to the players than any one game means to any other team in the country.

Allvol, what would some of yours be?

Just off the top of my head, understand I really only watch college football now. So this is lurking back in to my memory when I watched other things.

Red sox Yankees
Lakers celtics
Duke UNC
Bama auburn
Miami fsu

You could also get in to foreign soccer which I know little of but know there are obviously rivalries more heated than OSU and UM.

Not that bad of a list.

However, you do realize that you were talking about small world of college sports, 3/5 is college rivals

Lakers-Celtics isn't anymore, I wasn't even aware Miami-FSU was a big rivalry. Soccer has some huge ones though, Barcelona-Real Madrid and AC Milan-Inter immediately come to mind.

It is my list from my history of enjoying sports. Certainly not the list, you asked for mine. If someone were creating a list using objective criteria for all of sports I'd like to see the set of criteria that gets OSU UM in the top 5 of all sports.

My apologies, I thought you were saying that would be the all time list, not your own. My bad.

The last interesting OSU UM game I remember was 2006. Have the lakers ans celtics not played in the finals since then?

Fsu and Miami have trailed off. In my younger years it made UM OSU look like a pee wee game.

That may be the most ignorant statement I've seen all month. American sports are barely over 100 years old at best. Soccer has been around in some form for nearly a millennium. Please, learn history before going on a rant about ****ty sports (History lesson: The natives of south america played a "soccer" sport where the losers died. That's about as hardcore as you can get last I checked)
