Michigan spied on Vols last year

Game film is basically zoomed in right before the play starts and right after it ends. No staff worth anything would ever trade film if their signals were visible on the film. These collegiate film crews are legit. It's not like high school where you pay a kid or a dad with a hot dog to go stand on top of the press box. That is one layer to why all programs go through scrimmages at the stadium in order to make sure all aspects of the game day operation work smoothly (including film practices).

You might be able to pick up a signal or two watching a game on tv, but not anything robust or super reliable.

I was thinking in relation to the opposing team. Of course they wouldn't make their signals visible, but you would think the opposing teams signals might be visible.

don't know they haven't been caught yet. Elaborate is a strong word....sounds like it was simple to me and the guy that did it was also simple enough to talk too much.
Agreed, elaborate is not the correct word. It was a bunch of stupid kids who thought they were doing something elaborate.

Kind of pathetic the lengths we'll go to making excuses for getting our ass beat by another team. Spencer Rattler was on point that night. We got beat plain and simple. Ridiculous the troll jobs our fan base will fall for. This one ranks up there with "Nico being contacted by other schools".
Could Rattler knowing all the defensive calls help him make the right checks and choices? He looked like poo the week before and didn't make a single wrong decision against us.

I’ll add this. I’ve thought for 2 years, even in our 8-5 (7-6) season that if given the opportunity we would kick Michigan’s ass if we played them. You may agree or disagree me, but I thought we were a terrible matchup for them . They were horrible against the pass. If you feel the need, go back and check my stats from November and December 2021. It’s possible Michigan thought it would be a tough game too.

Statistical anomalies typically point to this. It's one of many ways forensic accountants and experts find manipulation. Here's two to consider:

1. For the people who say knowing the signs don't matter, you still have to stop them. Logically, false. Just knowing run vs. pass alone is a gamechanger. But, here's the evidence,

Harbaugh pre-2021 (when he was on the ropes and on the hot seat after going 2wins during Covid)

49-22
0 Big Ten Titles.
0 CFP Appearances.
0 wins over Ohio State
69.01 Winning Pct.

Harbaugh 2021-2023 (less than 3 full seasons)

33-3
2 Big Ten Titles in 2 Full seasons.
2 CFP Appearances in 2 Full Seasons.
2-0 against Ohio State.
91.67% Winning PCt.

2. Rattler's statistical spike

Before us getting scouted and USCjr allegedly getting our signals (by a coach with a prior history of acquiring illegal information)

198 passing yards per game.
8 TDs
9 Ints.

Rattler the next two games both against top 10 teams:

30-37, 438 yards, 6TDs against UT
25-39, 360 yards, 2 TDs against Clemson.

If the Harbaugh fits, as they say...

Not to mention, he's like 1-7 in bowl games, which could imply that he is unable or unlikely to be able to steal signals prior to those games since the Bowl Opponent isn't known until the regular season ends.

It's one thing to steal signs... it's another thing to share that knowledge with other schools in order to influence the playoff picture...
The only way this could more bizarre is if Henry Hill and Jimmy Burke and some of those Lucchese fellas were involved, amirite Godfatha???

you gotta wonder about Saban honestly. He was nothing special in the NFL but he always gets 80% of his games in college. Now what is one of the key differences between the NFL game and college football...?

This was my line of thinking as well. Correlation can't prove causation, but we can put more faith in it when multiple other things align.

1. Wristbands for the first time,

2. anomolously good performance by Rattler,

3. an epic loss (didn't it set some kind of record?),

4 . SC just happened to knock off BOTH of the teams that would have outranked Michigan if Michigan lost to OSU?

5. Beamer was fined for receiving oppo research in 2016.

That's a lot right there.
