The Michigan/tOSU game is November 17th. Assuming Michigan survives this weekend against Oregon and rallies to win the rest of their games before losing to the Buckeyes, that would most assuredly give the Wolverines at least a week head start on the Vols in searching for a coaching candidate to replace Carr. The Vols play Kentucky on the following week. They would have a head start in interviewing/contacting candidates and could have who they want in place by mid December, just in time to salvage their recruiting class. Mike Hamilton may have to be thinking about a replacement a few weeks earlier than the end of the season if he wants to guarantee a chance at taking a stab at some of the top coaches available before Michigan swoops in and scoops up the next Urban Meyer or whoever.
I think it is safe to say that Michigan and Tennessee would be the 2 premiere jobs going into this winter (provided FSU doesn't have one also). If the Ducks whip the Wolverines this weekend, however, the coaching search in Michigan could seriously begin Monday morning and Hamilton will have to deal with the leftover candidates anyway...
