Mike and Mike in the Morning: Jon Gruden

The only time I'll believe that Gruden is coming to Tennessee is after he signs the contract and he and AD Hart are on the podium telling the press he's our next coach.

Hold your breath until that happens and you'll turn into a smurff, LOL.

VFL...GBO!!!

Gruden is very interested. he knows nothing is going to happen until the season is over , or we lose to Vandy. He is not retarded

Even if we beat Vandy, we still have to beat Kentucky and this year their punter is playing QB so....?

Kirk Herbstreit was on a local Atlanta radio show this morning and they asked him wasn't Jon likely to go pro if he got back into coaching . Kirk said not really that Jon had told him it would have to be the right place, meaning the school would have to be willing to give the football team enough resources to compete for National Championships, and the school would have to be capable of competing for Championships with those resources. Now whether Tennessee fits that description is debateable

His best fit is where he currently works, if you can call what he does work. Millions of $$$ and no head aches. Tennessee, works his tail off 18 hours/day and gets slammed by all the stupid posters on the internet. Current job for life, coaching job for 3-5 years. Hmmmm, and you think he will be our next coach. I will sell you some lake front property in Northern Africa really cheap.

I doubt Gruden gives two ***** about "posters on the internet."

Here is what I find funny;

People like you and T&VFFL are the most adamant that Gruden isn't coming, yet, if and when we do sign him, you guys will claim to be his biggest supporters.

Wonder which will be more intense... The elation this place will express when Dooley is canned or the unjustified sense of disappointment, possibly betrayal, when Gruden finally says he doesn't want the job...

Well to be honest , I don't believe all the hype about him coming either ..........but of course like everyone else , I would be on the band wagon in a nano second . I would love to be wrong , and I like my crow with a little garlic and hot sauce

Never has something been generated out of thin air (his wife was a cheerleader) more than the prospect of gruden being the next coach

Elation by far. Gruden will be insane if hired but outside a few fanaticals most people are more pragmatic. Gruden may be 1,2,and 3 on everyone's list that believe he is coming, but there is a 4,5, and 6 on those lists too. There are over a dozen coaches I would be happy with outside Gruden but man, wouldn't it be cool?

If Gruden was hired, my exact reaction would be "Okay... I guess I'll see where this goes..." If he isn't hired I'll simply say "Well I'm not surprised." I don't really fall into the fandom of overreaction...

until he says no we have a shot. it's common sense. you should try it.

Until he says "No", it's not No. The fact that he hasn't said anything at all, makes me think there's something there. If he wasn't interested, he'd use his many forums to publicly say No.

To my knowledge, he hasn't......
