Gruden is a pipe dream. We will get a good looking "up and comer" with a lot of "upside". There will be mattress burning, cliff jumping, wife beating and dog kicking on VN when it happens.

The only time I'll believe that Gruden is coming to Tennessee is after he signs the contract and he and AD Hart are on the podium telling the press he's our next coach.

Hold your breath until that happens and you'll turn into a smurff, LOL.

VFL...GBO!!!

One thing is for certain. Your heroes sorry ass is out the door. So you better get your klenex ready scooter.

The irony is those they are stating he will not come somehow feel justified calling out those who say he will when both are just statements without justification unless you are part of the .000000000001% of VN that is.

Never has something been generated out of thin air (his wife was a cheerleader) more than the prospect of gruden being the next coach

gator your just ****ting your pants hoping he doesn't take the job because you know Gruden's stare is way more intimidating than Muschump's. Gruden's pissed off face will scar somebody for life. Muschump's pissed off face makes people laugh.

No seriously, Gruden will be at UT unless he does it for the pure challenge. He makes 4.3mil now. Are willing to pay him 6-8mil to pull him away from MNF and his hot wife laying in bed to recruit 18 hours a day 365 days a year? People need to get over Gruden coming here. Not that we don't want him but He's not coming.

For real though, can you imagine the staring contest between Gruden and Muschump at the middle of the field after a game. Good gosh.

Time will tell on Gruden. I believe there is an extremely good chance it happens despite your Grinch attitude trying to keep UT down in the Ohio Valley Conference. And time is one thing Dooley has very little left of this season. Of course he could use his two timeouts to prolong his stay at UT.

There is no plan, there is no mention....get it thru your heads

Gruden is not coming to UT, never.....ever.

He's bigger than UT.....His ego belongs in the NFL.......not VFL

So stop the gruden threads they are as old as Coopa Manning....

Your opinion not mine.

Until he says "No", it's not No. The fact that he hasn't said anything at all, makes me think there's something there. If he wasn't interested, he'd use his many forums to publicly say No.

To my knowledge, he hasn't......

Well, look at that, my 300th post here on VN.

Kneel before Zod!!!

300 posts in 40 months is 7 and 1/2 posts a month.....wherever do I find the time :)

I can't reveal my sources but Vince Lombardi is on the list and he has not said no yet. Word is, if the Packers job doesnt come open he will be interested and has been putting a staff together that will interest UT fans for sure. A secondary MOU has been drawn up and will be ready to go the week after the UK game.

Ok..... let me throw this in for thought..... It's not that I'm a big Gruden fan.... If he comes he does, if he doesn't life goes on. But from just reading what other Vol fans are saying, throwing in media tidbits and such, what is being conveyed in my little opinion is that we need an NFL type coach--somebody with some "strong" coaching skills that is sustainable in the rough and touch SEC.

His best fit is where he currently works, if you can call what he does work. Millions of $$$ and no head aches. Tennessee, works his tail off 18 hours/day and gets slammed by all the stupid posters on the internet. Current job for life, coaching job for 3-5 years. Hmmmm, and you think he will be our next coach. I will sell you some lake front property in Northern Africa really cheap.

Why do you people think that a guy, Jon Gruden, who coached football for most of his adult life and almost half of his entire life would not want to go back to coaching???

Regardless of where Gruden goes coaching wise, the fact that he makes millions on MNF does not quash his desire to coach. Same priniciple can be applied to uber successful business men and women who despite becoming multi-millionaires/billionaires continue their business pursuits because that is their passion!!!

Nay nay, my good friend. You forget the Dooley Rule is "Timeouts can only be used during the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter in order to remind players that the game has started back up."

Your attempt at humor is admirable. Just as Dooley's attempt to coach.

Dooley's use of time outs is inconsistent. All part of the master plan to keep the other coach guessing.

Gruden Claus is coming to town?

Here comes Gruden Claus,
Here comes Gruden Claus,
Right down VolWalk Lane,
Graham and all his winning football staff
Pullin' on the reins.
Bells are ringin', fans are singin',
All is merry and bright.
So hang your stockings and say your prayers,
'Cause Gruden Claus is coming…alright!
As he shouts Merry Christmas to all my grudenites and to all

Kirk Herbstreit was on a local Atlanta radio show this morning and they asked him wasn't Jon likely to go pro if he got back into coaching . Kirk said not really that Jon had told him it would have to be the right place, meaning the school would have to be willing to give the football team enough resources to compete for National Championships, and the school would have to be capable of competing for Championships with those resources. Now whether Tennessee fits that description is debateable
Huh, so you're tellin me Tennessee doesn't fit this scenario?
