I bet there's some retirement reconsideration from Mr. Pat Ryan. I'd love to hear him and Mike together again.
Yeah, I'm in the "don't love Hamer" camp, myself. Dane would be a good choice, but he's probably taking a significant pay-cut to leave SEC Network, so I doubt that's happening.
Bud Adams wanted a former Oiler/Titan in that position & everyone knows Bud did what he wanted regardless what happened to anyone else. I imagine Mike found out when Pat did.I wonder how it went down when PR was replaced in the Titans’ broadcast booth. He might not be a fan of MK. There’s a good chance that they all knew that Keith would be the replacement when Bob announced that Ryan was also hanging it up after the OSU game.
I have a fear, call it the Kessling Syndrome, that Mike is going to be much better at calling football games than basketball games and will get roasted for it.I’ve never heard Mike call a basketball game. Be interesting to hear
John Ward was also better at calling basketball games. But I also think basketball is a more “announcer-friendly” sport. I expect Mike will shine there too.I have a fear, call it the Kessling Syndrome, that Mike is going to be much better at calling football games than basketball games and will get roasted for it.
Bob was always much, much better calling basketball games, but because he wasn't great (good but not great) at calling football games, he took a lot of grief.
John Ward was the best basketball announcer I’ve ever heard. Nobody could describe the action like he could. You could allows know where the ball wasJohn Ward was also better at calling basketball games. But I also think basketball is a more “announcer-friendly” sport. I expect Mike will shine there too.
I was there and you are speaking truth. We were an offense to the game of basketball on many occasions during those seasons.This. Not a big fan of Hamer teaming up w/ Keith.
On a different note, I went to UT the same time w/ Steve. He gave his all but those teams were so bad. Todays TN fans would be shocked how bad we were.
