He sounds like hes actually intrigued by the game and isnt watching a round of golf

Many people are intrigued with things about which they know nothing. Example: Non-pilots are intrigued with flying to a greater degree because they have no knowledge of the why and how of flight.

Bob is intrigued with the game for the same reason. He also must be intrigued with the who factor because he certainly does not know the players!

Keith wasn't even trying and he still did one hell of a job. If you've ever heard him call a Titans game in which the Titans were reasonably competitive, you know how much of a beast he really is. It would have been overkill for him to be excited about that game.

Bottom line is Kesling doesn't bring anything unique to the broadcast. It's way too vanilla. All the great college network broadcaster's wouldn't necessarily be good at the national level. I always prefer to listen to the radio during the game, but Bob just doesn't do it for me. It too professional. It almost sounds like a JP sports broadcast. I've always wondered why Mike didn't get the job when John retired. He isn't perfect but he is a lot better than Bob.

???

He was doing the radio broadcast.

Yes, I talked to a friend this morning who always listens to the radio broadcast during the game.

I read all of the Keith comments and assumed he did the radio.
I take it Keith did the PPV broadcast.
I was watching on espn3 but had other games on too and was not really paying attention to the announcers.

By all accounts, BK is a nice guy and a good Vol, but he is not a particularly good football announcer. He is much more suited for basketball.

With all the changes around the program, I would be all for a new voice for the football program, and having BK stick to basketball.

Mike adds some insight to the game but Kesling adds more of a wow factor in his commentating.

Kesling has a better voice for the job and just brings more passion with his broadcasts regardless of the game.

Yeah, like wow he sucks!!

Back many years ago Larry Munson used to do Georgia games on Saturday and Falcon games on Sunday. Eli Gold does double duty between Bama games and NASCAR. So, the precedent is there.

Yep, Kevin Harlan did Missouri football and bball. Then would call the Chiefs games on Sunday in the 80's.

He was our young John Ward. He was always great to listen to calling games, regardless of the sport.

I'm not on the Bob fan wagon but I can't stand Mike Keith's style or voice. He sounds like a weasel on meth. If we regulate Bob to basketball....please let's do better than Keith.

Couldnt care less if mike adds slightly more insight and by no means is he John Madden or something. His voice is annoying and he shows no excitement for UT football. He would be perfect for a chess match or a poker game though. He could commentate the hell out of that.

Why do so many of you dislike Kesling? Have you heard the other SEC losers?!?

Well, let's face it, he's following John Ward. Anyone following Ward has a tough hill to climb and will be criticized rather harshly- fair or not.

Personally, I like him, but as someone else mentioned I think he 's much better at basketball and in fact really like listening to him and Bert calling a basketball game. Football not so much. I don't hate it, but it is rather annoying to hear him mess up and he has made many gaffes and blunders.
