The good thing now is we have 3 weeks for Thornton and Bru to heal up. But definitely good to see Matthews make the most of his opportunity.
It’s been 4 years, folks. He looks like the best all-around receiver on our roster. I have no idea why Huepel isn't playing him more. Every time he's gotten an opportunity he's made plays. Hopefully Bru and Donte are back for the playoffs. But Mike should still get more snaps even if they're healthy.
He's too good to keep off the field IMO.
And Squirrell (and Sampson)
We really need this break.
If you remember back Squirrel got his most targets vs Vandy his Freshman year last regular season game hard for Freshman to jump experience in this O, IMO Matthews > Squirrel or a much higher ceiling I should sayDo you know why he got so many targets today?
Because he blocked his tail off today!!
He’s going to be a problem for the SEC
Pretty sure that Thornton has a hurt leg.Thornton is way too fragile for my liking. A huge asset when healthy but hurt way to much. Pat Ryan said on the broadcast today responding to Swain saying Thornton asked to come out because of his stomach. Pat says Jason did you just say he was out with a tummy ache "?
Love Pat (get off my lawn) Ryan
They have really been the weakest link on the whole team. We really don’t have a go get me a catch kinda receiver in that room. Mike Mathew’s may become that guy. I think it has hurt us all year long. Our receivers have not won the one on one battles since 2022.Definitely a bright spot cause our receiver room has not been good this year outside Thornton
