Absolutely - his block on the pass behind the line of scrimmage saved a pick…he’s a physical receiver with great hands and speed. I believe he played in 9 or 10 games And the coaches have full confidence that he can excel in all aspects of the game - not just catching the ball.

When we have played Good Sec defenses our receivers have struggled winning those one on one matchups. Sure against the Chattanooga’s and Vandys we look great and put up huge numbers. How have we done against UGa . I am not downing our guys . We have just simply not well against equal or better talent.

We have several with all SEC potential. MM MIGHT have AA potential. That being said, anointing him "best receiver" on the team after 1 game is crazy, but typical of a sect of fans

Guys that have competed at that level know more than the common man. I know a few who post here. You won't see any of them refer to a player with hyperbolic insults or questions their toughness as much as the common armchair reactionary

On knowledge of the game I Disagree. Guys that played at the college level and beyond then yes, but ....

High school level doesn't know much more than some dude in the band. I played it. It's basic stuff. Not that hard to figure out and execute.



As far as toughness, I agree with you.

I 'm having trouble looking up the total snaps of each receiver this year, but I don't think its out of the question that MM has been one of the most efficient receivers per snap he has gotten on the field this year. He has just as many TD's as Bru, Squirel, and Brazzell. Worst case give him more snaps in the red zone

I played college ball and know how tough it is and how much work goes into it. I would just like to see us win some of these one on one matches on the outside against elite level defenses.

It's based on a lot more than 1 game, but I understand your point. I'm firmly in the sect that considers him our most talented receiver. Nothing wrong with taking a wait and see approach or wanting proof before forming an opinion, but I'm not wired that way.

Well, if you have been watching you would know we have had receivers open all year. We've gotten behind the defense often

He doesn't drop the ball in as quick as lightning. He is as they say built different. Luckily for us, we have more guys like that on the way!

Not sure who is "mid tier" but its not Thornton. He is the real deal, yesterday and throughout the season.
