Mike Matthews

They have really been the weakest link in the whole team. We really don’t have a go get me a catch kinda receiver in that room. Mike Mathew’s may become that guy. I think it had hurt us all year long. Our receivers have not won the one on one battles since 2022.
We were spoiled with Jaylin and Tillman. Need more guys like that so we don't waste Nico

Swain has been talking MM up on his radio show for some time now. He says same thing: “dude’s an alpha-dog playmaker”
"alpha-dog playmaker" all that comes to mind is Jajuan Jennings. If he's half the dog JJ is, we will be so lucky.

Only thing that was an issue was that block for Thorton’s long TD. Could have had that one called back.

But he will be awesome.

Anybody else catch that the announcer pronounced Nico's last name "E-ma-Yama-llama" after Matthews TD. I couldn't stop laughing.

He is Bru and Thorton mixed into 1 dude, he blocks like Bru, has the over the top speed of thorton, but i think he is smoother than thorton with his route running. Dude is going to be a problem.

It seems as if MM proves the fans wanting him on the field more correct every opportunity he gets. He is one of our best contested catch guys, one of our best blocking receivers, and he is explosive... We have guys that do some of that, but he is the only one that seemingly does all of it, keep that man on the field.

Thornton is way too fragile for my liking. A huge asset when healthy but hurt way to much. Pat Ryan said on the broadcast today responding to Swain saying Thornton asked to come out because of his stomach. Pat says Jason did you just say he was out with a tummy ache "? 🤣🤣

Love Pat (get off my lawn) Ryan
Playing through an injury doesn't mean the man is fragile. He's the best receiver on the team and I'd also add pretty tough.

Wow…you can tell after one game!
Yes neither have the explosive ability that MM has. Look at his contortion and seperation. His catch radius is greater than both. Bru is awesome his best asset is his blocking ability and physicality. Thornton is a 6'5 guy with speed that likes to go vertical. By the way they are both solid WR's and that is not a shot at either. However MM has abilities that they do not.

I thought there was a unspoken or spoken rule about using players names as thread titles.
Well, we could always start a thread by saying player X made a great catch from player Z today. That would give us a lot of important information on which we can make a decision if we want to read it.
