Military badges, coins, insignia, etc....

I remember watching news reports in the 60's and 70's of guys coming home from Vietnam - Not Glamorous. There is this one I remember that will forever be burned into my mind. It is the reason I say Welcome Home to Vietnam Veterans.

we need a thread for medals and ribbons,I've got a hell of a pile that was my dads ,bless his heart he is buried in the Johnson City VA along with my mom

We were in Hawaii and went down to Hickam for that.
 
did anyone here get to go through the aussie rappel and rock climbing course in korea?
 
This is my favorite, 823rd RED HORSE Sqd. Located at Hurlburt Feild, FL.
I spent my last 5 years there before retiring. RED HORSE is the USAF version (lite) of the USN's SEA BEE's.
We do have Airborne within the unit. If you have ever had to bare base, these are the men and women you want to see. Chances are though, they have already been there. To the HORSE!

did you make it out of korea before desert storm? I had a lot of friends that were stuck in korea when desert storm started. where was you stationed in korea? I was stationed in an jeong ri.

I clearly remember first arriving at my base in Vietnam where the Sea-bees had just finished extensive improvements to the defenses and were moving out in several days. They were burying two bulldozers in a large deep trench. Guess they were "over-allocated". :)
